Beyond police and fire personnel, the only city side worker to crack the 2023 list of top 100 municipal wage earners is Personnel Director Eric Amado pulling up the rear, continuing the historical trend of public safety leading the annual salary pack.
In fact, this may be the first time that Bridgeport’s mayor did not make the top 100 list. The salary grid covers base pay as well as overtime, holiday, longevity, retro for bargaining unit contracts, retirement and vacation payouts.
As was the case in past years, lower staffing levels, particularly in the police department, provides overtime opportunities, leading to law enforcement personnel dominance of the list.

Lennie, there’s is an addition ettor in the calculation of Eric Amado’s Gross pay.
Me think it’s intentional to keep Joe Ganim from appearing on the 100th spit. Again, a Puerto Rican used as a shield.
Now the OIB question of the week is who really is #100 On the top 100 list? It ain’t me for sure.
Not for nothin but we’re giving the top three earners in the police department a million dollars, while our kids don’t have the resources they need in school. That fuckin brilliant.
You’d think they would at least tell us the number of arrests or crime solved during the last 3 years for each one.
Keep in mind the totals include 17 retirements and at least one error (Eric Amado) of about $69,000.
