It is unclear if Rev. Al Sharpton will take part in a march he’s scheduled to attend in Bridgeport on Saturday, according to some of the city’s religious leaders.
Even though Rev. Al Sharpton is being promoted as the central figure at a march in Bridgeport on Saturday, several religious leaders now tell News 12 “It’s unclear if the national civil rights leader will attend.”
Sharpton’s picture appears in the “Taking Back Our Village March” ad that’s been circulating on social media over the past week.

What happened is our black community is sick. They are divided. They threatened Rev. Sharpton with violence. Now you know we are stupid as hell as a group of people because we threatened a leader and told him not to come to Bridgeport because he was not welcome here. Who the Hell does that! Evil people. Maryinlyn Moore was behind it. She stay her ass in some shit. These kids in this community tired of these old people. They need to sit down and retire. They are crabs! I called the National Action Network and they told me that Bridgeport is full of chaos and the black people have been crazy like this since the 80s. Nothing has changed same actors. I need to get my ass out of Bridgeport. Too much evil and stupidity. This could have been our moment to get something done and to fix the crazy shit going on. Donald, I have just participated in a Zoom meeting of the Greater Bridgeport NAACP Executive Committee. This subject matter was not on the Agenda for this month, nor was it on last month’s agenda. It was not discussed as New Business either. There is genuine disappointment in the community that one or a handful of folks from Bridgeport feel enough power to speak for the many others who were solicited for resources and support, as well as for the larger group of people of color in the community to but fail to identify who they are and why changes are requested. Who came together, followed an agenda, considered action items and democratically voted? Is anyone interested? Who wishes to practice dividing and discouraging our community rather than summon them to exercise the power in seeking justice and seeing peace and some progress comes to our community? Time will tell.
Well, that doesn’t stop the march, with still have big time problems with the police,the police chief Mayor Ganim with all of these federal investigations, not funding education, fire department not hiring black and Hispanic women to be firefighters, Ganim being to busy to the mayor because he wants to run governor, a City Council who don’t listen to voters but they only follow Mario Testa and Joe Ganim. All roads for change in Bridgeport CT starts at City Hall at Mayor Ganim’s office. No justice no peace.
I’m a big Al Sharpton fan, I saw him some years ago with a group of black and and Puerto Rican firefighters at Sacred University and we got a group photo with him. I must say that I’m trouble on why Bridgeport needed to ask Rev. Sharpton march when Bridgeport could and should match because they want to make change but the would be against the mayor and the council for not addressing the problems of Bridgeport.

Where is it written that the City Attorney’s Office should pay upfront legal fees for city employees AND if they are guilty then they reimburse. Why isn’t it the employee pays upfront and if they are found innocent the city will reimburse???
