West Side Fire Displaces Eight

One person was hospitalized after a Monday night fire on Beechwood Avenue displaced eight people. Police link the blaze to a domestic dispute. Within fifteen minutes firefighters had the bulk of the fire out, according to a report from Steve Krauchick of Doing It Local. Video coverage above.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Opens Police Post, Donates Life-Saving Kits

Woman Dies In House Fire Trying To Save Family Dogs

A woman who tried to rescue family dogs trapped in a house fire on Seltsam Road also died Sunday morning, according to Fire Chief Richard Thode. The fire occurred in the Whiskey Hill neighborhood along the Route 25/8 Connector. Two others were hospitalized by the fire that destroyed the house.
