From Bridgeport Generation Now:

Did you know that 2017 is an election year in Bridgeport? All 20 seats on City Council–2 seats per 10 voting districts–are up for re-election! Bridgeport Generation Now, I Luv BridgeportMake the Road CT, Congregations Organized for a New Connecticut and partners are hosting a City Council Candidate Forum on Wednesday, September 6th 2017 from 7:00 – 9:00pm.

Held at the historic Bijou Theater (Farifield Avenue Downtown), this forum will set the stage for a dynamic discussion about city-wide issues. It is also an opportunity to educate voters and hold candidates accountable to policies & ideas.

Moderated and formatted by Bridgeport Generation Now members and event partners, it will be a fun, safe, and collaborative space!

Kind of weird setup. Kind of like speed dating except you are stuck with your date for two years.

I hope a few people will raise their voices to ask what the candidates will do once they realsie the City Council is just a subsidiary of the Democratic Town Committee?

Nothing, because they don’t want Mario to find someone to primary them the next time they run for office because it’s to much work getting signatures if you are not the endorsed candidate so it becomes go along to get along. Sad but true.
