  1. The meters tell a story.
    Here’s the welcoming preface:

Pay to play has been replaced. From now on, use any method you like but Bridgeport has become the Pay-to-Park City.

    Will the second boycott begin?

    1. Harvey, Steven Auerbach still has not learn the lesson of keeping his mouth shut but he loves the spotlight on him so he’s digging a deeper hole, keep running your mouth Steve instead of just saying “no comment.” This the Bridgeport Democrat and the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee way, be local, kiss ass and do what we tell you and maybe you can get a City job making $57,000 a year and be the cover person for expanding the swamp, only in Bridgeport.

      1. You don’t get a city pension without being obedient for many years.
Here’s why I’m writing: Steven Auerbach was putting out fires before Ron Mackey picked up a hose.

        1. LOL, I was fighting fire as a teenager as a firefighter in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era while Steve was in pampers with his hose pissing on his self.

          1. Ron you really have been reduced to a pathetic whiner. Do you ever get tired? Why not get off your ass and do something constructive.
You should really learn to respect other peoples choices . Vive la Differance!

          2. Stevie, Little Stevie… You fit right in with the rest of the DTC. Harass, call names, personally criticize others you know nothing about. All in keeping with the antics of the wife of a high ranking member of the Ganim administration:

“Our friend down the street drove home and got out of her car in front of her home on Beacon St … only to have Bonnie Roach descend upon her. Bonnie wanted to warn the wife of John Marshall Lee, a 70-something-year-old active researcher and citizen watchdog in #Bridgeport, that she should watch what her husband was asking about Dan Roach — the chair of the Police Commission, Mayor Ganim’s 2015 mayoral campaign co-manager, now a 6-figure project manager for the city, 32-years-straight leader of the Black Rock area Democratic Town Committee, co-chair of the Environmental Task Force funded by PSEG, and mayor’s liaison to the Bridgeport Regional Business Council board. I know because I serve on that board with him…”

        1. Steven Auerbach,
Enjoying the continuation of Saturday parking without meter.

Your question to Ron is as unfortunate, in my opinion, as many you post. Is $57,000 your compensation upon which Ron commented?? Is that as a seasonal employee in Public Facilities or as some new project management position? In any case, perhaps what Ron, as a retired fireman is indicating is that City employees earn two types of income. One part is the annual compensation on which you are currently taxed i.e. $57,000 and the other part is the cost of your benefits, disability, healthcare, pension, etc. in addition to any required contribution you make. A retired fire fighter like Ron receives a pension as a percentage of his pay when employed. There is more KaChing in your life than in his.

Currently in the Police Department the expenses of current compensation to safety officers currently serving is closely equalled by the cost of fringe benefits including pensions, overtime pension benefits and OPEB.

By the way Steve, I know that financing is not your main bowling lane, but from where did we find the funding for 600 meters and installation? When the photo meters were taken down, what has been done with them and how much will we recover? Is all of this financing part of the Police Department or another dept? Time will tell.

  2. Eh, Steve has kissed enough ass,and this is the payoff, good for him! He will probably get a year to a year and a half out of it.Who ever wins in 2019 is going to want to place his or her people in jobs like his.

  3. I think I posted this somewhere else but, considering the dearth of business/customers etc,it would have made more economic sense,in the big picture,to have free parking Downtown. IMHO,that would have brought more people downtown, increased business for present businesses which would have drawn more new businesses to open. I don’t know how much revenue comes in from the meters. I’ll have to research the city budget.

  4. *** Every “week-end” parking should be free in downtown Bpt. If the city wants to promote more activity & business there, its better to have the “free parking” on the weekends then back to business during the week-days,no? *** What Say You? ***

  5. MOJO parking IS FREE on Weekends!

The install continues thanks for your patience.

If there is a meter: Feed it!!! The new meters and old meters are running! The same meters are in Norwalk and New Haven. Very easy to use. Don’t feed the meter , get a ticket- That’s how it works! See you all Downtown!! The information is everywhere – Hope you do not experience any unnecessary inconvenience during this install.

  6. *** Yes week-end parking is presently free downtown however, once the new parking meters are placed & done this weekend freebie may disappear; we shall see? ***

  7. Steven Auerbach, did you get this position by merit and by taking a Civil Service exam and competed with others or was this position just given to you?

    1. And you were expecting an answer? Thank you though for minding my business and your interest in my career. I , however have no interest in you or your career. Nor do I care who are supporting as a candidate. Does it bother you though that you can not vote for Marilyn? Maybe I will see you and Marilyn with Ned at the East End Picnic tomorrow. Do say hello so I can see the face of my nemisis.:-) Lets move on Ron ,, I am not discussing my career and future aspirations on this blog. This is for my entertainment, not yours. See you Saturday at Newfield Park Or are you attending the Black Rock Porch festival with Marilyn on Sunday?

  8. Steve,
Were an academic social scientist to review your blog post for the past year anyway, they would come away with a content analysis that would declare your priority content in terms of quantity and quality was PRO-JOE.
Since the primary loss, have your instructions regarding messaging changed. Are we likely to see MORE MOORE content? Why? Are suggestions as to Marilyn’s rising popularity with Bridgeport voters so threatening to the current administration that you are setting out to bark up some City trees? State dollars for Discovery and Barnum are welcome, aren’t they? And action by Moore (Johnny RAY Moore) and Moore (Senator Marilyn) should block the series of easy foreclosures for WPCA accounts that have not been paid by customers. Under PURa, in cities with 100,000 or more population PURA now will administer WPCA issues and they do not administer foreclosures. Perhaps liens will be the only recourse? Time will tell.

    1. JML, great assessment of Steve and it has paid off big time with a $57,000 a year just given to him, he didn’t have to show any merit, he didn’t take a Civil Service exam to compete with others. JML, Steve is basically a problem incumbent person, whoever is in office that’s who he’ll support like Bill Finch and Anthony Musto but they both got their ass kicked out. The only thing missing from the Post article about Steve was his picture. Not bad work for kissing Joe and Mar’ s was and getting a $57,000 a year City job.

    1. Joe Ganim and Mario Testa had a debt that they had to pay for someone sucking up and kissing their ass while Ned Lamont was kicking Ganim’s ass over the entire State. Steve did the same thing for Bill Finch but Finch didn’t do jack for Steve but that didn’t stop Steve, no sir, Steve kept on kissing the next mayor Joe Ganim along with Mario, congratulations Steve, $57,000 was the price that you sold your self for.

  9. John Marshall Lee

    Derick Brown and Ron Mackey..

I am not certain what it is that you think you have a free for all at my expense. My salary. and position is none of your business. If you do believe it is by all means investigate.

Please do not expet any future responses from me- If you need to know – do ask Brian Lochhardt.

As for myself, It is shocking and embarrassing to have to listen to this crap. Marilyn Moore has lost my support thanks to Ron Mackey.

John Marshall Lee- Honestly have no use for you and have totally lost all respect for an individual that has become just an annoying bore. Derrick Brown what can I say other than I appreciate all of the comments on my phone and email asking why I continue to write on this blog with nasty ignorant negative waste products on society. How you think you can get away with your commments is just so foreign to me and apparently others that have stopped reading Lennies Blog. I will let myself be much more scarce.

Selling myself for 57000 I am totally confused .I just do not know where you guys are coming from.

It does seem that all of your candidates keep losing and for some reason since all of my candidates came through , You just can’t stand it. I respected your choice of candidates. I never get the sme respect. But on this blog, you got to know I do not respect most of the posters, so its ok.

Speaking about Marilyn Moore, I wonder if she visited the East End reunion today. It was a wonderful day and you certainly didn’t have to live in the neighborhood to appreciate. I live in the North End.

57,000– just for the record. That salary is incorrect not that it is anyone’s business. A person could certainly enjoy a first class cruise or a nice European vacation for the difference in the actual amount. I just find it hilarious that my salary is the object of conversation– I am laughing and now I will be scarce. I do appreciate the raise though. The Connecticut Post has made some serious errors in both artices written and that is pretty pathetic. Almost as sad as the comments attacking me on this blog. I will no longer be responding. I do understand why so many have stopped reading- Even Lennie Grimaldi has to write on Facebook to get responses.

Speaking of Rich Deecken , I bet he also didn’t bother showing up for the East Side party but will assume he was in Black Rock today with his future constituents for Black Rock Porch day .

On a somber note, May John McCain rest in peace.
    A true American ……

  10. Steve, you have a City job that’s being paid by Bridgeport taxpayers, the position according to the Conn. Post states you are being paid $57,000 a year. Steve did you have to take a Civil Service exam to compete for that position with others base on merit to see who is the best qualified person to perform that position? Or Steve, was that City position that’s pays $57,000 of taxpayers money a year just given to you? Perhaps Lennie you could inform us seeing that is public information of taxpayers money.

    1. What did Steve do that was so good that he was GIVEN a $57,000 a year political job? I’m sure that their are others out there who have helped out who would like political job like Steve.

      1. Ron,I doubt anyone else fawns over Joe like Steve does.I mean, just on this blog he is his biggest supporter.I could imagine how he must be when in Joe’s presence.Do you remember the video of Joe operating the bulldozer at the Boy’s club?.Steve was front row applauding and hooting like Joe was parting the Red sea.Joe’s ego feeds off people like Steve.

        0
        1. Harvey, that’s so true but don’t forget that Steve was all over Mayor Bill Finch when he was mayor and the same with State Senator Anthony Musto until Marilyn Moore kicked his ass but Joe Ganim and Mario Testa made sure that Steve’s sucking up was rewarded with taxpayers money. So sad.

          0
    2. Ron mackey – I did state the salary was incorrect. I do not recall you ever answering a question I have asked on OIB so I expect you will get the same respect. I work for the City. I do not work for you. I am a taxpayer also and I believe my taxes so where along the line paid for your salary- so please just disappear!

  11. Ron Mackey- you Harvey Weintraub an

d Derrick Brown as well as JML having a redundant conversation about me working for the city and my salary really is hilarious to me.

The good news for me I guess is that I have have a job that I am performing very well. Sorry I am not anyone else that should have gotten the job over me. There really isn’t anyone that I know that isn’t thrilled for me . That of course doesn’t work for you. Jeolousy is not a very admirable qualty. I am grateful for the support in the business community and needlss to say everyone that doesn’t read this blog.

Joe and Mario certainly didn’t have to pay off a debt to me. That is all I have left to say on this subject. By all means keep up the character assaults. If it makes you feel good do it. It certainly doesn’t make me less energized to serve the city of Bridgeport. It does however make me feel a little sad for those engaging in the conversation.

    1. Steve, you are being paid with taxpayers money and it’s public information about the job and pay. Why are you scare to tell everybody that the job was given to you because you passed a Civil Service exam and you came out number one or the job was give to you my Mayor Ganim and Mario Testa. Steve, there’s nothing hard or tricky about you telling the public of your success that people are so happy about. By the way, what political act did you perform to get a wonderful job with a salary of $57,000 per year that we all can celebrate?
