  1. The Mourning 9/11 20 Years Later here in Bridgeport. During the September 11 attacks in 2001, 2,996 people were killed of which there were 343 FDNY firefigters including 3 females who were killed doing their job. In program today there was no mention of women firefighters and you didn’t see any female firefighters and the BFD “Acting” Fire Chief, Lance Edwards, was not at this event. June 30, 2001 was the last day of being a Captain for Donald Day and myself as being a Lieutentant in the Bridgeport Fire Department.

  2. *** ITS AMAZING ON HOW MANY PEOPLE REMEMBER EXACTLY WHERE & WHAT THEY WERE DOING ON 9/11 THAT MORNING! I WAS SITTING AT THE BPT. FLYER DINNER COUNTER ON FAIRFIELD AVE. WAITING FOR BREAKFAST & WATCHING THE T.V @ THE END OF THE COUNTER WHEN BOOM, “BREAKING-NEWS” FLASH CAME ON & THE REST IS HISTORY! *** “STILL WE REMEMBER, TO NEVER FORGET” ! ***

  3. Bob Walsh: if that was me who you included on the other post along with Ron and Don, thank you. Thanks to Ron and Don for their service as well. Growing up and living in a Bronx neighborhood where virtually all my friends were cops or firemen, today-9/11- was a tough day. I lost a few friends who were on NYFD, NYPD , and Port Authority. R.I.P. ♥️
    Thanks again.

    1. Rich, 71 law enforcement officers who died in the World Trade Center and on the ground in New York City; another law enforcement officer who died when United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Rich, you know how male cops and firefighters are, we act like things we encounter in the line of duty don’t bother us but Pete Townshend of the WHO said it best in the song “Eminence Front” which means “It’s a put-on.” We all hurt because we are a family and hurt when a family members dies espically in the line of duty. Rich, I thank you for your service.
