The City Council’s Budget & Appropriations Committee will host a public hearing Monday night, 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers to address the Board of Education budget.
Mayor Joe Ganim’s $638 million proposed spending plan for the fiscal year commencing July 1 does not raise taxes.
The final public hearing will take place Thursday 2, 6 p.m. in council chambers covering the general fund budget.
The budget committee is scheduled to vote on the fiscal plan with alterations on May 11. The full council will act May 13. The budget process then goes back to the mayor for possible veto action which is rare prior to setting of the mill rate.
