School Board Hears Allegations Against Principal

From Linda Conner Lambeck, CT Post:

Tisdale Principal Carmen Perez Dickson “popped” one student in the head and dragged another across the floor like she was “a sack of potatoes,” two employees at the school testified this week at Dickson’s ongoing termination hearing.

The veteran school administrator is also accused of cracking a bat on her desk in front of a student with special needs.

Asked why she kept a bat in her office, Sandra Kase, the district’s chief administrative officer, testified that Dickson told her it was to protect herself from parents.

    1. Good question, Phil. Meanwhile this woman has been getting paid her full salary on administrative leave since last July. I believe that’s upwards of $130K+ of taxpayer money to someone who allegedly physically abused kindergarten-aged children on video.

  1. Even if half the allegations are true and can be proven, this woman should be arrested for child abuse, and perhaps other charges as well. It’s absurd to continue to pay this woman’s salary with the kind of charges she is facing, but at least she’ll have enough money to hire a defense attorney, which she is going to need–pronto! I’m baffled as to why none of the parents have filed a lawsuit against her.

  2. My wife and I are still waiting to hear from DCF, the BOE (transportation), my daughter’s (special needs/non verbal) school bus company. Just to see the videos of the bus cameras to figure out how my girl got such bruises on her body. If the videos were destroyed, who should I put a bat to next time it happens?

  3. *** THE PROSECUTION-TYPE ACCUSATIONS RENDERED SO FAR IN THE “FIRST PART” OF THIS STORY DOES NOT SOUND GOOD; HOWEVER I’M WAITING FOR THE DEFENSE-TYPE REBUTTAL IN THE “SECOND PART” OF THIS STORY TO HOPEFULLY FIND SOMETHING CLOSE TO THE TRUTH, SOMEWHERE IN “THE MIDDLE,” NO? ***
