Optimus Health Care Searching For CEO To Replace Retiring Lud Spinelli

News release from Optimus Health Care:

OPTIMUS Health Care, a leading network of 33 community health facilities with headquarters in Bridgeport, announces changes to its Board of Directors, including a new Chairperson whose first responsibility will be to find a new CEO for the organization.

The newly elected officers are:
• Julia Claire DiCola, Chairperson.
• Carlos T. de la Iglesias, Vice Chair.
• Brenda Burton-Seldon, Secretary
• Jessica M McCauley, Treasurer.

Optimus Health Care has thrived under the leadership of Ludwig Spinelli, who
announced his intention to retire earlier this year.

Mr. Spinelli has served Optimus for 40 years and has been the architect of its rise as leading provider of health services in southwest Connecticut. The new Board structure will establish leadership in the four main Board positions as his tenure comes to a close.

“Finding someone to step in as Lud Spinelli steps out is no easy task,” said Julia DiCola, the new Board chairperson. “He was a fountainhead, the original source of our DNA as a growing organization. Our intent is to continue this path, as we form a Selection Committee and find the right leader to the mission of providing quality, comprehensive health care to everyone we serve.”

Optimus provides more than 210,000 patient visits each year to people across southwest Connecticut, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. The organization offers medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare through support from federal, state, and private resources. Optimus is accredited by the Joint Commission and the National Center for Quality Assurance.
