From the CT Post:

Police officers traveled to Wethersfield Thursday for the funeral of Thomas J. Lattanzio, the suspended police officer who took his life in Seaside Park over a week ago.

Chief Armando Perez attended the service, along with members of the department’s honor guard and a busload of officers on a city bus.

In an obituary published this week, Lattanzio’s family said that the 17-year-veteran of the Bridgeport Police Department was born in Hartford and always wanted to become a police officer.

  1. May we remember your desire to serve the public in blue from an early age. And the skill demonstrated in specialized undercover work. May we think about your care for a pet cat and concern about animals in general. And reflect on the joy you found in music. May your brothers and sisters in blue understand the general respect for law and those who serve the law to provide safety for all and the specific respect when skill, and attitude, and daily bearing are focused in one person trusted by the public to do the right thing. I pray that you and those with whom you were close may find peace of spirit in the truths revealed in your life. Time will tell.
