Meanwhile, Chief Perez Says He’ll Live In Bridgeport

From Brian Lockhart, CT Post:

With his five-year contract pending before the City Council, Police Chief Armando Perez has sought to address one of the criticisms of his appointment as top cop.

Perez said he will move from Trumbull to Bridgeport.

“That is my intention. Absolutely,” Perez told Hearst Connecticut Media, noting that with his son in college and daughter heading off to college, “It’s just me and my wife. And the dogs.”

… “Nobody’s forcing me. I just think it’s the right thing to do,” Perez said. “I try to lead by example. … That’s something the men and women of the department, they’ll see it, they’ll see my point of view” about living in the city they patrol.

  1. “Nobody’s forcing me. I just think it’s the right thing to do,” Perez said. “I try to lead by example. … That’s something the men and women of the department, they’ll see it, they’ll see my point of view…” Your point of view? Really?! So your subordinates will see the propriety in sending a patrol officer to fetch absentee ballots at the behest of a candidate for public office and his godfather over there at the pasta joint on Madison Avenue?
