East End City Councilwoman Eneida Martinez posted this on her Facebook page on behalf of 70-year-old Charlie Coviello, a four-time mayoral candidate, suffering from cancer.
As you may all know Charlie Coviello is gravely ill. He remains at Bridgeport Hospital under comfort treatment only. Charlie has no stability or active income currently. This writer has set up a fundraiser to assist Charlie in paying his expenses. I am asking for the support of any one that may be able to attend the fundraiser, please come out and help in any way possible.

220 Waterview Ave, Bridgeport, CT.Thank you all in advance. This is a very hard pill to swallow and to say the least having to type such a request to the community. This moment is full of 😭 sadness. Charlie has been a pillar here in the City of Bridgeport. He has been a blessing to many and has NEVER said NO when anyone has called for his help. Now he needs us.
