Unions Endorse Finch

From the Finch campaign:

Finch for Mayor Adds Three More Union Endorsements

Iron Workers Union Local 424, Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA) Local 40 and the United Union Of Roofers, Waterproofers And Allied Workers Local 12 each announced their endorsement of Mayor Bill Finch in his bid for reelection.

“I am very proud to have the endorsement of these three unions,” said Mayor Finch. “We’re rebuilding Bridgeport, and union laborers have played a significant role and will continue to do so in the next four years.”

About the Iron Workers International Union: The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers (IABSO&RIW) was founded in 1896 in Pittsburgh, Penn. They now represent more than 125,000 Ironworkers throughout the United States and Canada. The IABSO&RIW’s mission is to improve the working conditions of its members while promoting constructive relationships with their employers to increase work opportunities.

The Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association (SMWIA) serves to protect and raise the living standards of over 150,000 skilled men and women employed throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. We work in the construction, manufacturing, service, railroad and shipyard industries. The SMWIA strives to establish and maintain desirable working conditions for its members through their employers. Doing so provides them that measure of comfort, happiness, and security to which every member is entitled to in return for his or her highly trained and skilled labor.

The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is one of the construction industry’s most respected trade associations and the voice and leading authority in the roofing industry for information, education, technology and advocacy. 1. Again endorsements from unions who did not poll their workers. BFD. Where the hell were these unions as the city unions were getting beat up and blackmailed by Finch & Company? I’ll tell you, the BA’s were sitting on their fat asses while their membership were unemployed. To the unions, stick your endorsement, it means squat.

  2. Who the fuck ever heard of those unions? Their endorsements mean nothing. This is more of the Carroll brothers trying to save Charlie’s job. It’s bullshit.
