Democratic Town Chair Mario Testa is not getting the message about following state party protocol.

Hard head, thick skull, call it what you want, most of the stuff he’s supposed to follow for party transparency is a layup to implement.

This isn’t hard.

The city’s Democratic Town Committee continues to violate party rules even after being warned by state peers last year to make fixes.

That is the takeaway from a preliminary report issued Thursday by a dispute resolution panel of the Democratic State Central Committee. That three-person group held an online hearing Aug. 13 on a complaint about how Bridgeport’s 90-person branch operates under veteran head Mario Testa.

The panel concluded that the local town committee violates state party requirements by failing to post meeting notices and agendas online and has not updated its Facebook page since November 2022. And the trio of panelists — Marc Garofolo, Jennifer Pope and Rosemarie Tate, all of whom are from outside of Bridgeport — also determined the city’s Democratic leadership does not follow its own rules to convene a minimum of four times annually.

Lastly, the dispute resolution members concluded that when Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee participants gathered this past May and amended their bylaws to allow a nonresident treasurer, they did not do so correctly and need to schedule a do-over.

Let’s face facts,Bpt’s DTC is rotten from the top down.Of course they don’t advertise meetings or even have a website “website is not cheap.”(Mario’s excuse btw),the DTC is like a secret club,full of ex cons,and indicted individuals waiting for their court dates.Nothing can even start to change until the head of the secret society retires,quits,gets indicted himself.Mario seems to have a spell on these people though,they all willingly do his dirty work either for endorsements or patronage jobs or both.The fact that the vice president of Bpt’s DTC has close to 100 felony charges pending,while the president of the DTC himself walks around Scott free tells you all you need to know.

  3. I’m leaning toward retirement/unseated, The Port’s/Ct oligarchies, overlords, won’t let him quit. They didn’t even let him get indicted in the dragnet back in the day when G1 was buy designer shirts/suits, stashing wines, and hobnobbing with billionaires from NY. AKA Trump. I don’t want to did in what else was provide to keep/maintain this shit show call Port politics, or how it was sold out for their 2bits.

    If you don’t think Mario was not caught on those tapes that put G1 and our host, Lennie in the hot seat. Well, I mean, Mario don’t come off as a Veto Corleone criminal mastermind. 🙂
