Police, Fire Respond Quickly To Car Blaze In West End

From Steve Krauchick, Doing It Local:

(Sunday’s) second car fire was at the intersection of Cottage and Norman Street. Witnesses told me the car was intentionally set. The fire destroyed a garage between two multi-family homes as the residents slept. Police on patrol called it in from their radios to the fire department and got the residents out of the home prior to their arrival. There were no reported injuries when I left the scene but I know it would have been a different story if it weren’t for the police’s efforts. Firefighters quickly got the inferno under control and made sure the fire did not extend into the homes.
