Meow–Three Weeks From The Vote Count, The Politics Of Masks

Three weeks from the general election, have you voted yet? So far the Town Clerk’s office has received more than 10,000 requests for absentee ballots–a product of the health pandemic–in the state’s most populous city that also has the most registered voters, roughly 70,000. As a result, a record submission of absentee ballots will be cast.

2020 isn’t exactly the year of vision but perhaps blurry orbs: a presidential impeachment, exoneration, a health emergency equating to a 100-year storm, business shutdowns, economic meltdown, virtual meetings, a president who says wearing masks is for pussies. Hmmm, what about Zorro, Masked Marvel, Lone Ranger, Green Hornet, Batman and Catwoman? Nothing like Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry in masks.

Speaking of meowing, President Pinocchio’s gonna need a lot of claws and paws and saws to cut his way out of his self-inflicted polling deficit. Given the nuttiness of the year, something kooky could occur. Nationally, Democrats have expanded the map as Trump campaigns in states he won handily four years ago.

Closer to home it’s a relatively quiet election cycle and that’s the way incumbents like it. Peaceful, easy feeling.

You can vote by mail or go to the polls in person November 3.

Don’t forget your mask.

    1. donj, I must that you have been open about your decision and as a young black man you voted like a number of other young black men who didn’t like Hillary Clinton but donj you made it known that you had made a mistake which is honorable.
