Foley’s Graceful Concession, No Fraudulent Votes, No Legal Challenge

Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley announced this afternoon he’ll not seek a legal challenge of Tuesday’s election results. He announced he will call Governor-elect Dan Malloy to congratulate him on his victory.

Foley stated the “Election was a conclusive victory for Dan Malloy and this result should not be questioned.”

Foley shared that a legal team went over results town by town and concluded a recount would not change the vote. Despite numerous irregularities, Foley said, his review team found no evidence of intentional fraudulent play.

Bridgeport’s Registrars of Voters, Democrat Sandi Ayala and Republican Joe Borges have been on the hot seat for failure to print a sufficient number of ballots that caused havoc for voters and the city at large.

Kudos to Foley for not dragging this thing out. If the city was named as a defendant it would have cost a lot of dough.

  1. Lennie, what the heck is going on with the CT Post site? Obama comes to town and we see “change.” There are no blogs and the page is totally different. Are they going eliminate the old set-up so we have to buy the newspaper?

Elections are over, I guess that means OIB traffic is going to be like Seaside Park in the winter. Lennie, you bleeding heart liberal. You missed the part where the GOP is calling for a voter fraud investigation in Bridgeport. The only way for Democrats to say anything nice about Tom Foley was for him to go away. Remember that Malloy hit him on the fact that he had no political experience. He has no experience or knowledge of the Bridgeport political machine to even suggest that there was no fraud. He did in fact say there was some appearance of fraud, read the CT Post–if you can–as well as other papers, don’t expect Lennie to give you facts.

  2. City of Bridgeport employee Bobby Watkins, who last worked at the Eisenhower Center as its janitor, has passed away.
My deepest condolences to the Watkins Family. RIP Bobby.
