Kris "Tanto" Paronto

News release from the Bridgeport Republican Party:

Kris “Tanto” Paronto will be the keynote speaker at the 2016 Lincoln Dinner Thursday May 26th at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport. The former Army Ranger Paronto is a real-life hero of the Benghazi terror attack and co-author of The New York Times bestseller “13 hours from Benghazi.”

“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” a movie directed by Michael Bay that is premiering nationwide on January 15, is based on the book. The book and the movie tell the true story of six elite soldiers who held the line during the infamous attack on the embassy in Benghazi. Mr. Paronto is one of the three surviving soldiers.

Mr. Paronto’s appearance and book signing will be the centerpiece of the Bridgeport Republican Town Committee’s 2016 Lincoln Dinner theme, “Salute to Service.” The dinner will also feature awardees to be announced at a later date and showcase well deserved acknowledgement of various military accomplishments and advocacies.

Please visit www.bridgeportgop.com to secure your attendance. Seating is limited. There will also be an exclusive reception and book signing with Mr. Paronto for those who sponsor a table or purchase tickets for that portion of the event.

  1. *** The 75th Ranger Regiment was and still maybe is in, Fort Lewis WA where I was stationed for awhile with the US Army, 9th Div Infantry in 1974. Half of the 9th Div was killed or injured in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. The Rangers Regiment used to be over in the north fort area of Ft. Lewis, which was the real rural woods part of the area. Great base Ft. Lewis WA about an hour-plus south from Seattle WA. ***
