Skulls found believed to be from a Santeria ceremony. Police photo.

Human skulls, a high priest in the Santeria religion, neighbors terrified of a curse. All of this and more playing out in the drug investigation of Felix Delgado.

From Dan Tepfer, CT Post:

“We found two human skulls and bones that appear to have come from the remains of two people,” said Police Capt Armando Perez. “This was like nothing we had ever seen before.”

Perez said they found altars throughout the first-floor apartment and basement, many covered in blood.

“Delgado is a high priest in the Santeria religion and practices the dark arts,” Perez said. “People in the neighborhood are either from Puerto Rico or the West Indies, where this religion is practiced and they were afraid to say anything against Delgado for fear he would put a curse on them.”

On January 2,2015, members of the Violent Crime Reduction/FBI Safe Streets Task Force, assisted by the Connecticut State Police/Bridgeport Gang Unit, Statewide Narcotics Task Force and Stratford Police Department, executed a search and seizure warrant upon 518 Hallett
Street, Bridgeport Connecticut. The Task Force developed information that Felix Delgado, aka “Cuba”, born OS/2811975 was selling heroin and prescription pills from his residence, located at 518 Hallett Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Delgado has further been reported to be a Santeria “high priest”. Santeria items, as well as roosters and human remains were said to be kept in the basement of his residence. This information was corroborated in part by the Bridgeport Police Department Patrol Division, Bridgeport Police Confidential Sources, and Law Enforcement Officers from the Worcester police department.

Worcester police were conducting a parallel investigation into Felix Delgado for his alleged involvement in breaking into a mausoleum, located within their jurisdiction. The caskets had been removed and/or forced open and It appeared the bodies had been removed; however, some
small bones were left behind in each casket at time of disinterment.

Upon executing the warrant at 518 Hallett Street, Police retrieved two human skulls and one “long” bone from Delgado’s basement. The remains were configured in a “Palo Mayombe” type-altar, which is a sub-culture within the Santeria religion. The remains were collected by Bridgeport Police for processing and storage pending transport to the State Medical Examiners Office.

As a result, Worcester Police coordinated with their district attorney’s office and a warrant was issued for Delgado’s arrest, charging him with eight counts of Body-Disinterment. The task force arrested Delgado and charged him as a Fugitive from Justice from Massachusetts. He was
transported to Booking and held in lieu 0f $125,000.00 pending his arraignment in court on February 3, 2016. The district attorney’s office for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts already coordinated with the court (GA2) on all aspects regarding the extradition of Delgado.

Respectfully Submitted,

Sergeant John Andrews

  1. *** PALO MAYOMBE IS AN AFRICAN CONGO TRADITION THAT CAN BE USED FOR GOOD OR BAD/LIGHT OR DARK BY TRAINED TATAs WHICH CAN INVOKE RAW SPIRITUAL FORCE. VERY PREVALENT IN CUBA, THE CARIBBEAN ISLANDS AND LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES AND IN SOME PLACES IN THE USA. *** ASHE ***

  2. Is anyone slightly curious about the number of headline-grabbing arrests the Violent Crime Unit and Capt. Perez have made since Ganim came into office and sidelined Chief Gaudett? I thinks it’s kind of remarkable how much press the VCU and Capt. Perez are getting. I’ll bet next week there will be another big headline case. Amazing coincidence, well, maybe not. Maybe we’re all getting stroked by our good ex-con mayor. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

  3. *** WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IN THE POWER TO CONJURE UP SPIRITUAL RAW FORCES, “GOOD OR BAD”/”DARK OR LIGHT” DOES NOT REALLY MATTER. WHAT MATTERS IS THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO BELIEVE AND WITH THAT ALONE, THE POSSIBILITY OF THESE SPIRIT RITUALS AND THE POWERS THEY CAN INVOKE IS NOTHING TO MAKE LIGHT OF NOR IGNORE SHOULD IT PRESENT ITSELF TO YOU OR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! *** ACHE ***
