I haven’t, as a matter of practice, generally agreed with Chmn. Moales, but his remarks are spot-on.
There are lots of holes in Moales’ position. Over 50% of the district’s students are doing well and they shouldn’t be walking around with a tag on their toes. If there are some who die intellectually, the evidence to convict the BOE is insufficient. The investigator in this case hasn’t looked at the other possibilities of the cause of death and the parties responsible. Moales hasn’t looked at the possibility of intellectual suicide or parental intellectual neglect. Let the dead bury the dead.
*** Whether it’s “spot on or spot off,” you certainly don’t have to be on the Bpt BOE to realize this city’s school system in general, along with the school administration, the schools staff and teachers and also the parents and kids, have all failed to achieve the basic education skills that are needed to succeed in the world today. Which if clearly understood means the Urban American youth of today will not be able to be the quality leaders of tomorrow in running this country if this education cancer continues! ***
