From Mayor Finch:
Observe Alternate Side of the Street Parking Regulations in Green Section
Through end of month, public works crews will be performing street sweeping and maintenance in East Side and East End
City Public Works crews will be sweeping streets and doing road maintenance in the Green Section–the East Side and East End of the City, through the end of the month. During this time (21st through end of month), vehicle owners in the Green Section must heed alternate side of the street parking regulations.
On odd-numbered days, cars should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street (house numbers ending in 1, 3, 5, 7,and 9), and on even-numbered days cars should be parked on the even side of the street (house numbers ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8). Cars should be moved to the correct side of the street by 7 a.m. Violators can be subject to a ticket, towing or both. The alternate side of the street ordinance is in effect from April 1 through November 15.
“Moving your car to the alternate side of the street helps our public works crews do their jobs more efficiently, and ultimately, helps keep our city cleaner,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “I’m urging everyone to obey the City’s alternate side of the street parking regulations in order to clear the roads for our public works crews.”
The city is divided into three sections: RED SECTION, which is comprised of the City’s North End, BLUE SECTION which is generally the West End, Black Rock, South End and Downtown areas, and the GREEN SECTION which is the East Side and East End neighborhoods.
Red Section: The red section includes the area of the City north of North Avenue (Route 1), including North Avenue to Trumbull Town Line between Fairfield Town Line East to Route 8/25 and Seltsam Road from the 1st to the 10th day of every month. (North End & North Side of City)
Blue Section: The blue section includes the area of the City south of North Avenue (Route 1), but not including North Avenue to Ash Creek and Waldemere Avenue between Fairfield Town Line east to (but not including) Knowlton Street, Water Street and including south end of Main Street, from the 11th to the 20th of every month. (West End, South Side & Black Rock)
Green Section: The green section includes the area of the City south of the Trumbull Town Line to Pleasure Beach between Beardsley Park, Glenwood Avenue and Knowlton Street (including Knowlton Street) east to the Stratford Town Line from the 21st to the last day of every month. (East End & East Side)

Wasn’t that considerate of the mayor to tell us the odd numbers are 1-3-5-7 & 9 & 2-4-6-8 & 0 are even #’s? I think he needs to stop watching Sesame Street when he writes these statements. Was the letter of the day “F?”
Bill Finch actually telling us what the even numbers are and what the odd numbers are shows the people of Bridgeport what he thinks of all of us.
Bill Finch ought to tell his mother to observe alternate side of the street parking.
