Working Families Party Releases Endorsement Questionnaires

If you’re a candidate for state or federal office and seek the endorsement of the Connecticut Working Families Party, check out its questionnaire here.

The labor-backed organization released its 2018 endorsement questionnaires for US Federal office, Governor, Secretary of the State, Attorney General, Treasurer, Comptroller, State Senator, and State Representative. Candidates may apply for endorsement for both primaries and general election.

“We are excited to launch our candidate questionnaires early this year,” says Lindsay Farrell, state director of the CT Working Families Party. “In 2017, we saw a tremendous amount of anti-Trumpism activism and enthusiasm for the political process. The trend is continuing in 2018 in Connecticut, where we are seeing champions of everything from paid family leave to affordable college interested in running for office and shaking up the status quo.

“We encourage any interested candidates to fill out a questionnaire to be considered for the Connecticut Working Families Party endorsement. It shows voters right there on the ballot that you will fight for an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.”

Working Families Party issues center on economic justice, tax fairness, healthcare, living wages, workers’ rights, public education and immigration reform.

In the last statewide election, the Connecticut Working Families Party says it garnered its strongest showing to date, having received nearly 6% of the vote on its line for U.S. Senate in 2016. Approximately 87,948 votes were cast for Richard Blumenthal on the Working Families Party ballot line.

For the most part the WFP endorses Democrats for public office but has on occasion backed centrist Republicans. Its support can swing close races.

Arguably its biggest legislative win came in 2015 when Ed Gomes won on the WFP line during a special election for State Senate.

Its the in your face, “Trump-era”;of weather you love him or hate him, make excuses for him or completely ignore him & his back-room politics. America has in part, turned a blind eye to everything that has made this country great, in exchange for colonists type idealogy that is suppose to re-assure the white upper-class elite & followers that in there eyes, they are still the “alfa” top-dogs & shot-callers in “their” America! *** WHAT SAY YOU? ***
