  1. From the New Yorker:

In a 1991 book about his experiences running Trump Plaza, in Atlantic City, “Trumped! The Inside Story of the Real Donald Trump—His Cunning Rise and Spectacular Fall,” John R. O’Donnell, a veteran casino executive, recalled a conversation that he had with his boss about an employee in the Plaza’s finance department who happened to be African-American. I cited the passage last fall, after Trump attacked Myeshia Johnson, the widow of a black soldier in the U.S. Special Forces who was killed in Niger, but it is worth reproducing it now. (The quote below begins with Trump speaking about the black employee. The “I” at the start of the second paragraph is O’Donnell.)

“Yeah, I never liked the guy. I don’t think he knows what the fuck he’s doing. My accountants in New York are always complaining about him. He’s not responsive. And it isn’t funny. I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. Those are the kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else.”

I couldn’t believe I was hearing this. But Donald went on, “Besides that, I’ve got to tell you something else. I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is. I believe that. It’s not anything they can control. . . . Don’t you agree?” He looked at me straight in the eye and waited for my reply.

“Donald, you really shouldn’t say things like that to me or anybody else,” I said. “That is not the kind of image you want to project. We shouldn’t even be having this conversation, even if it’s the way you feel.”

“Yeah, you’re right,” he said. “If anybody ever heard me say that . . . holy shit . . . I’d be in a lot of trouble. But I have to tell you, that’s the way I feel.”

          1. Fair enough Andy. Now try growing a set of horribly rincled balls and tell us which countries or islands are #2,#3, #4, etc.

        1. I’m guessing you haven’t been keeping tabs on Trump’s public statements. He’s on the record saying all Haitians have AIDS. (He asked to have Haitians removed from the protected status list.) Before the election he said Mexicans are criminals, drug dealers and rapists and murderers. After the gathering of angry white people in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year that devolved into violence your hero said there were “very fine people” among the white nationalists, neo confederates, skinheads and Klansmen. Now he describes Haiti, Salvador, Honduras and the 54 nation on the African continent as “shithole countries.” Where are Paul. Ryan, Mitch McConnell and the other GOP choirboys?

Donald Trump is a vulgar and despicable human being, Andy. He appeals to other vulgar and despicable human beings. What’s your story, Andy? Are you vulgar, despicable or both?

          1. You throw around a lot of names but in reality its the dems that have screwed the poor and working people with false promises. Call me what ever makes you feel good I dont give a shit!!!

            0
          2. That’s your problem Andy. You don’t give a shit about anyone. Just an angry embittered old man.

    1. I voted “NO” because to I find it offensive for anyone to label or call President Donald Trump a shithole. On November 22, 1964, I was born in the United Shitholes of America and more specific resided in the shithole P.T. Barnum Housing projects. Exactly one year before my birth, The President of the United Shitholes of America, John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. A few years later his brother Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther king met the same fate. These men and many other were killed for simply trying to clean up the United Shitholes of America.

A shithole is not necessarily a bad place or shituation to be in. Anyone who finds themselves in a shithole, shall simply do their best to get out of the shituation and most importantly help other do the same if or when they succeed.

President Donald Trump will never understand the meaning of shithole despite the fact he came from the worst form of a shithole. Shit produces maggots among other bad diseases. Donald Trump and creatures like Andrew C Fardy are maggots and as maggots, turn into flies who feed on shit. Their only mission is to spread the disease of hate, eat shit, and eventually die. We the good people of the United Shitholes of America must continue cleaning up the shitholes in our country as best as we can. The maggots and flies will always be among us. Let them eat shit and die. For the time being, let be happy that our President is happy playing golf in his never ending pursuit of hitting a shithole in one.

    2. Here’s the conclusion of Hamilton (in quote) regarding his own writing of federalist # 68 which covers his essay on the formation of the electoral vote process: “if it is not perfect, it is at least excellent.”

It would be an impossible feat for anyone to successfully argue that the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election delivered the caliber of US President Hamilton imagined the electoral college process would deliver. I’d say: If it’s not excellent, it’s at least good for the time being.

      1. Hey MORON if you dont like it here go back to where you come from . You have a lot of nerve saying the United shit house of America. Really where else could a scumbag like you get a government job.

        0
        1. I Never said let alone write “United shit house of Americ.a. Tha’s actually your home address. I said, The United Shitholes of America. I got a government job in the same place a maggot/fly like you got a government job. It’s impossible for me or anyone to go back to their mother’s womb where we all come from. I was born here (The United Shitholes of America) and I’m proud to acknowledge this reality. As I’ve stated, we the good people of this country must continue to clean up the shitholes within our country. Every bit of shitty debris we pick up shall be put in a “scumbag” for disposal. When you die, you will most like be put in what your loved ones will be made believe is a body bag. In reality, you will be put in a “scumbag”. You still have time to change your ways and views towards humanity.

    1. There is also the controversy of Missouri Governor Eric Greiten who admitted to an extra-marital affair. I went on Facebook and look at the comments of people who are defending the adulterer Greiten and it is mind-boggling. Without a doubt, these type of situations are bipartisan(e.g. Bill Clinton,Gary Hart) but the hypocrisy is always repugnant.

      0
      1. When Roy Moore was accused of being a chicken hawk several conservative Alabama Republicans stepped up to defend him by saying there is Biblical precedence to justify older men pursuing teenage girls.

Republicans including Donald Trump have tried to turn the Russiagate investigation into “Why haven’t the FBI investigated crooked Hillary?” Which is not a denial. All Trump can do is repeat “There was no collusion.” Conspiracy is something else.

        0
          1. Robert Mueller’s investigation is ongoing. Sean Hannity andthe rest of the professional liars of FNC would have you believe otherwise.

            0
          2. If you took your news from more than one source you’d know that Mueller is in discussions with the White House to interview Donald Trump, under oath. McGann and Sekulow, the oresident’s personal attorneys are trying o limit the scope of questioning. Good luck ith that. Mueller, a seasoned federal prosecutor, is allowed to ask whatever question he wants to.

Your hero is in deep trouble, Andy. All the dumb ass crackers and angry rednecks that follow him on Twitter believe every thing he says. “There is no evidence of collusion!” Trump is fond of saying. Okay, so there is no evidence of collusion. He hasn’t denied the other legations, the money laundering, the obstruction of justice.

            0
  2. Kid what about all the congressional hearings that have turned up nothing. Muellers probe has turned up nothing so far. One thing that has turned up is possible treason by two FBI agents who raded emails and showed their bias towards Clinton . I suppose you get your news from msnbc with Joe and Mika a program that features 2 adulterers a former newsman fired for plagiarism and advertising ex that is supposed to be and expert in government and now we have added Mike Lupica a sports writer for the Gaily News. No wonder you are clueless

    1. As if Fox News Channel is a oaragon of virtue. Megan Kelly and Gretchen Carlson got out because Roger Ailes was a lecherous old man. Bill O’Reilly had to step down after all the omen he harassed came forward.

  3. Maybe if you were a city arson investigator, instead of a hose puller, you would under stand what Mueller is going threw.
Working as an arson or fire investigator can be just as challenging as Mueller’s job, but identifying arsonists or ensuring a building’s safety can be very challenging.

    0
  4. I’m “clueless”? Get a grip, you doddering old fool. Mueller runs a tight, leak-proof ship. Donald Trump is being investigated for obstruction of justice, his daughter and son-in-law, Paul Manifort and “coffee Boy” George Papadopoulos for laundering money through European banks. He’s stamped his name on at least thirteen businesses that have failed. One of his branded hotels in Manhattan removed “Trump”from the edifice. Republicans and Democrats have confirmed he referred to Haiti and of majority black nations as “shithole countries.” Afterward he got on the phone to gauge the public reaction, as if he was proud of offending every decent citizen in America. He hasn’t been able to fill cabinet posts. West Wing staffers are leaving en masse, an exodus of degreed professionals that do not want his name on their résumés.

Trump sold campaign hats emblazoned with the slogan “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.” America has never stopped being great. It will be better after Trump is removed from office.

    0
    1. The USA is not and will never be a perfect union. The founding fathers knew and undestood this centuries ago. Only the Gullorant would expect or believe that any nation could possibly be “Great”, let alone again when in reality, it never was. There isn’t such a thing as perfect, excellent, superior, etc. These are only feel-good words and who doesn’t like to feel good? When individuals start to accept ‘Good enough’ as the maximum limit, thye shall feel more grounded to reality. The idots buying those silly Trump hats made in china still haven’t realized that they made trump richer by buying $2.00 hats for $35. Make Trump and China Great Again.

    2. Kid you need to stop reading the liberal newspapers Manifort is the only one under ivestigation and to date Mueller has found no wrong doing by any of the Trumps. Why aren’t you mentioning the on going Clinton Investigation. Why no mention of the 2 FBI agents that may be arrested or fired. You liberal hand ringers make me sick. You and your type are all members of the NBAA

      0
      1. How do you know Robert Mueller and his office full of experienced federal prosecutors haven’t found anything? Paul Manifort has been charged. George Papadopoulos pled guilty and is cooperating with Mueller’s investigation. Donald Junior has been summoned by House and Senate investigatory committees. Jared Kushner lied on his security clearance application. Mueller has subpoenaed Trump’s financial records including his dealings with Deutchebank. The office of Soecial counsel hasn’t released any information. That does not mean they haven’t found anything.

Fox is right. If you were an arson investigator you’d know understand why it is important to keep the details under wraps. But you weren’t an investigator. No, you were just another hose pulling grunt on the front lines.

        0
        1. Yes I was a hose puller on the front lines and I was proud of it and I was and I am proud to have worked with these people especially at a time America was burning up. You and that chicken shit from Fairfield Fox would never make on the front lines with real hose pullers.
Kid just so you now when I was a fire investigator I was paid @150 per hour for scene investigation and $200 per Hr for testimony. Neither of you idiots ever came close to that.
Mullers investigation is an easy one he has the FBI to do his leg work. He has subpoena power that forces people to testify or claim the 5th at which point they could face time in jail. Mueller has found nothing at this point on Trump and you can bet if he did it would be leaked to the press.
Kid you and Fox can ridicule what I did for a living but neither one of you pussy’s could do that job so like I told Fox I will tell you the same Fuck You

          0
          1. How do you know Mueller’s investigation has turned up nothing? Show us the documentation. Donald Trump has something to hide besides his tax returns. Why would he have approached Robert Comey to halt the investigation into Michael Flynn? Why did he instruct the White House Counsel to coerce Attorney Jeff Sessions to not recuse himself from the investigation?

There’s ignorance nd then there’s stupidity. You’re stupid, Andy. You don’t deny the facts but refuse to believe them.

            0
      2. By the way,

Clinton is not in the White House. Trump is. He’s under investigation for financial crimes and obstruction of justice. The Donald can blame HRC and the Democrats for the appointment of Robert Mueller but the fact of the matter is he was appointed by Rod Rosenstein, a Trump appointee.

      3. The liberal newspapers, eh? I read the New York Times (famous for publishing the Pentagon Papers), the Washington Post (famous for exposing the Watergate scandal), the New York Daily News, the New York Post, the Connecticut Post, the Hartford Courant.. The New York Post, hardly a liberal rag, used to cover Trump’s comings and goings on Page Six. Now they cover his “presidency.” Even that paper is appalled by his behavior. The NY Post’s coverage of Trump is more than a little cynical. The editors know he’s a buffoon.

        0
        1. All liberal rags that have at one time or another been caught in lies and unverified reporting BFD. I am sorry Kid now I know why you are fucked hope. I hope you get better

  5. What is sad for our nation is the fact that Donld Trump didn’t want to win the ekection, he ran a campaign to burnish his brand. Now we’re stuck with him because of dumb-as-a-stump redneck in trailer park land actually believed his bullshit. that he is supremely unqualified to hold public office is a well known fact.

  6. I did not vote.
Why? Because it is clear that Lennie is part of the “Resistance’.

    Definition:
    shit·hole
    ˈSHitˌhōl/Submit
    nounvulgar slang
an extremely dirty, shabby, or otherwise unpleasant place.

If Lennie had asked if it was inappropriate for the POTUS to use such vulgar slang, I would have voted ‘yes’.

Instead, as is the nature of blogs, Lennie is encouraging dialogue, including participation of the assholes who frequently comment on OIB.

    Definition:
    ass·hole
    ˈasˌhōl/Submit
    nounvulgar slang
    the anus.
    an irritating or contemptible person.

    1. I understand your feelings here Tom. Republicans shouldn’t worry about Lennie being a part of the “Resistance.” The biggest asset of the “Resistance” is President Donald Trump himself. That’s the biggest problem for the Party of Lincoln. The frequent posting by OIB “assholes” is not even close to a problem to the Republican Party nationally, statewide or locally. The biggest problem is the frequent tweeting by the asshole President Donald Trump.

It’s time for Republicans to start the IMPEACHMENT process of President Donald Trump. Dump Trump and bring in Pence then lets commence the cleaning up of the United Shitholes of America together. United we stand, divided we fall. If we fall, the shitholes will be even bigger and more challenging to clean up.

    1. Hey Andy,

Mueller’s probe has led to two indictments and two guilty pleas thus far.

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his former associate, Richard Gates, were indicted on money laundering and tax fraud charges.

Former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign policy adviser George Papadopoulos have pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

      So that’s nothing?

  7. Whats the matter kid the truth hurts so like all liberal crybabies you have to make shit up. Did I criticize you for being a card carrying member of the aclu no I didn’t I do know i got the bestof you and it wasn’t hard

    0
    1. Like all of Trump’s supporters you blame the “liberal” media, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party for Trump’s contemporary difficulties. In point of fact the news media merely reports whatever dribbles out of Trump’s mouth. He is a public figure now, not just a rich asshole. If he makes embarrassing statements no one else is to blame. He was to cut the ribbon opening the new American embassy in London. He declined, blaming Obama for the deal. (George W. Bush actually signed off on it.) The true reason is he didn’t want to look bad. British protesters were planning a massive demonstration that would have been covered by every news organization on earth.

I don’t make shit up, you old crone. You bet of a losing horse.

  8. Washington (CNN)Republican Rep. Mia Love of Utah called on President Donald Trump to apologize Thursday for his reported comments criticizing immigrants coming to the United States from what he called “shithole countries.”

“The (President’s) comments are unkind, divisive, elitist, and fly in the face of our nation’s values,” Love said in a statement Thursday night. “The President must apologize to both the American people and the nations he so wantonly maligned.”

Andy, who’s right and who are the shit holes that you reference?

    Andrew C Fardy // Jan 12, 2018 at 5:02 pm
    For one Haiti.

OIB this is the mindset of Andy Fardy now and when he was a firefighter, tis was the type of bullshit that black and Puerto Ricans firefighters had to put up with. Just like 45 Fardy had to be a showoff to the white firefighters and talk shit about black and Puerto Ricans firefighters as he held court in the firehouse and there were no white firefighters to tell Andy to shut up or to challenge him.

    1. Ron just like you to make shit up Remember I had you as a rookie passing thru tell me one time I did what you claim I did. Ron you are an out and out liar and it shows when you are bested by a smarter person.

    2. Tell me just one minority fighter that heard me say the things you state. Mackey you are a bald face liar. You get your ass handed to you and now the lies come out. Grow up

      0
  10. As you can see Fardy has no knowledge of the history of Haiti.

    “No Haiti, No Louisiana Purchase”
    Mac McCelland

The rebellion of Saint-Domingue, as the French colony was called back then, started on an August night in 1791 when slaves set fires and massacred ruling whites. It took 12 years, but after the defeat of plantation owners, and local French troops, then an army of Spaniards, a British invasion, and ultimately Napoleon’s army in 1803, the Republic of Haiti was born. It was the most successful slave revolt in history. It created the first independent state in Latin America, and the first black-led nation in the world. As a footnote, it also helped ensure the survival of another fledgling republic: the United States.

How? Well for starters there may not have even been a United States to save by 1803 had Haiti not been such a fabulously profitable colony. French aid to America’s revolutionaries was delivered not only because they wanted to stick it to the British, but also to protect Saint-Domingue, which provided 40 percent of the world’s sugar. The treaty of alliance between America’s Continental Congress and France explicitly stated that the US would help them do so. Haiti was also a critical way station for French naval assistance and weapons smuggled to US rebels, including dozens of French ships and thousands of French troops that helped take Savannah.

    1. That was then this is now I guess when the Navy went into Haiti to take out the americans what I saw was a mirage. The 3 sided shacks people taking a dump at the waters edge. I guess poppa Doc was a mirage. I guess Dr, Rand Paul doing 0ver 200 eye surgeries on the poor was a mirage BTW all paid for by Trump.

  11. From NPR:

Before he was even elected, Trump raised the ire of many Latinos when he announced he wanted to build a wall to keep Mexicans from coming into the U.S. Most of the people here illegally, he said at a press conference, were “criminals and rapists.” He wanted those “bad hombres” kept out. (As with other of his declarations, there was a little problem with the truth: People living here in the shadows are less likely to be criminals than the native-born.)

Then, months into his presidency, Trump was quoted saying he didn’t want anyone else from Haiti coming to the U.S. because “they all have AIDS.” Later, he apparently told some staff that there were too many Nigerians in the U.S., and future immigration policy should cut way, way back. If you let them in, he warned, they’ll never “go back to their huts.” (The White House has since denied this, but that denial got pushback from some people who were in the room.)

Black Americans didn’t escape unscathed either. They should stop their blind allegiance to the Democrats and vote for him, Trump said at a 2016 campaign event, because, “What the hell do you have to lose?” The inner cities, he insisted, were full of crime and poverty — “they’re just hell.” (So … hell? Shithole? Which is worse?)

  12. March 4, 1837
On this date Chicago celebrates DuSable Day, the 181 birth of Jean-Baptist-Point Du Sable. He was a Black pioneer, trader, and founder of the settlement that later became the city of Chicago.

Du Sable was from St. Marc, Sainte-Domingue [now Haiti]. His French father had moved there and married a Black woman. DuSable is believed to have been a freeborn. Around the 1770s, he went to the Great Lakes area of North America, settling on the shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Chicago River, with his Potawatomi wife, Kittihawa (Catherine).

The British arrested him in 1779 for the defiance of the crown, and took him to Fort Mackinac. There he managed a trading post called the Pinery on the St. Clair River in present-day Michigan, after which he returned to the site of Chicago.

By 1790, Du Sable’s establishment had become an important link in the region’s fur and grain trade. In 1800, he sold out and moved to Missouri, where he continued as a farmer and trader until his death. But his 20-year residence on the shores of Lake Michigan had established his title as Father of Chicago. Jean DuSable died Aug. 28th 1818 in St. Charles, Mo.

    1. That was then this is now. We have this trio of losers busting my balls and calling me names. We have Fox who has to be the only person to move from Fairfield to Bridgeport, We have the BK from black rock still trying to talk intelligently even when he knows he is a dumb ass. We have Mackey who sspent 20 plus years faking it as a firefighter, and we have Joel who is Joel. Keep bringing it on. I will be gentle with you all I dont want to upset the ill.or challenged

      1. So Andy,

Show us your degrees in astrophysics and neurosurgery. You started with the name calling. As the Golden Rule is “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” be prepared for return fire. You’re just another angry white guy that bought into Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again!” bullshit. Time for you to retire to a trailer park in Florida with the rest of the angry old crackers whose time in the sun came and left. you embarrass yourself and the uniform you once wore.

Trump is going to be impeached in 2019 after the Democratic Party regains control of Congress and restores power to the 99%. If he isn’t forced to resign.

        0
      2. You’ll be “gentle.” How sweet. You’re in way over your head here. Just a little over eight years ago an earthquake wracked Haiti killing about 300,000. A cholera outbreak took another 30,000 lives.

It is an American ideal to help the less fortunate. It is also the Christian thing to do. Guess you missed that day in Sunday school. The base of the Statue of Liberty is a plaque that reads “Bring your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…” It doesn’t contain the words “except for Haitians, Salvadorans, Nigerians or anyone else from a shithole country.”

        0
        1. It also doesnt say bring your whole country. A recent survey of all civilized countries asking people if they wanted to live in anerica found that 750.000.000 people want to live here thats double the population we have now. Why dont a bleeding heart like you volunteer to exchange places with someone from Haiti

          0
          1. “Meet the Press”? Surprising you’d watch a program on NBC. Your orange hero said that network purveys fake news.

            0
      3. “We have this trio of losers busting my balls…”

Andrew C Fardy, when I was a kid growing up in the State Street area of the West Side, I used to spend some time adventuring into many of the old, burned-out buildings. I remember one day seeing what appeared like a rotting set of balls from a human or possibly a dog. I’m convinced now that they were not from a dog. You lost your “balls” a long time ago while doing your job in that building.

        0
        1. You’re just another angry old cracker whose day has passed. YOU resort to name calling. Now you resort to threats. That’s real adult, Andy. What’s next, gonna put both hands on your popo and go wee wee?

          0
          1. Derek,Fardy has always been that way, he’s been that angry cracker all of life, I don’t know if some kid kicked sand in his face or someone kicked his ass because he’s so short when he was a kid but he’s been acting like 45 all of his life always trying to be that bully.

            0
          2. Archie Bunker mentality, eh? It figures. Just another old bigot, angry his “culture” is fading away.

            0
  13. Mackey I am happy you have gotten over your fear of white men that kept you from applying to take the FD test. Let me tell you no one kick my ass except once while boxing in the Navy, not like you bitches in the air force. Derek go back to rehab

  14. Lennie,
Why all of this furor over two words with a common core s**t? A word that all readers and listeners are familiar with from a very young age. I mean, if you are regular, and I hope all of you are, you have to deal with s**t daily. But I am willing to bet that most OIB readers have not had to deal with a real s**thole or with a s**thouse in many years?? Readers are mainly accustomed to placing their afterparts on hygienic surfaces, frequently white and well scrubbed for the benefit of those phobic to germs. Does that include 45?
A privilege, if you will of birth in the US has been modern plumbing so that an outhouse or s**tter is merely a picture rather than a damp, odorous, and insect ridden place with a seat that might offer a splinter but no paper to complete the task at hand? Travel to Asia with experiences common to brother and sister residents of those lands, can lead to a new physical exercise for Americans who, when in need, learn how to squat over a hole in the ground, target appropriately, and perhaps with company in the room (no stall walls installed), keeping clothes from becoming soiled, complete the task at hand smoothly.
45 has led a gilded experience. When his deal doesn’t work, he resorts to bullying as a basic tack, and then to using legal help to keep from working things through, or so the record seems to say. Ignorance of the history of Haiti, El Salvador, or the African continent may be an excuse for his unfeeling opinions, but they do not help the US with a long term course of action with the people of other lands, in my opinion.
I have been to Haiti on several occasions, have seen the people of that country be challenged again and again by their own inept leadership, failure to raise opportunities for their young and attempt to settle obligations for a century or more that the revolution should have settled without debt for the economic value of the lives of former slaves whose rebellion at risk was the price. Yes, the French helped the US get its start at more than one juncture or early year in our history, but the successful revolt of the slaves of Haiti perhaps played a larger part in the racism of the US because of the notion of violence that Southern slave owning whites peddled as part of their secondary opposition to abolition.
Instead of beating up on each other, as often occurs on OIB, how about figuring out how to use the actual knowledge and experience of Andy and Ron, of TBK and Joelle, and of others including Jim Fox who often brings humor to the show with his facts?? We are residents of the Bridgeport Plantation…..for years our kids can go to school, but if they cannot read or become skilled with numeracy like kids in other communities, does anyone care in the management of the plantation? And if you can’t keep up with the burden of taxation (without genuine explanation or transparency) you can leave the City, sell out and go wherever those folks go!! And this plantation runs for the overseers, a mainly white group of folks who use the rules and tools of the current DTC to maintain order, such as it is, that keeps folks down and out for the most part, with only an expectation of a s**tty future? Rebellion in order? Doesn’t need to get bloody. The “red stuff” that you see is only marinara sauce. Right, Mario? Time will tell.

    1. John Marshall Lee, “Why all of this furor over two words with a common core s**t?” Are you serious?

Then JML, there is your silence on Andy Fardy’s comments about Haiti:

      Ron Mackey // Jan 13, 2018 at 9:18 pm

      Andrew C Fardy // Jan 12, 2018 at 4:26 pm
he is right they are shit holes.

      Ron Mackey // Jan 12, 2018 at 4:50 pm
Andy, who’s right and who are the shit holes that you reference?

      Andrew C Fardy // Jan 12, 2018 at 5:02 pm
      For one Haiti.

      1. What about your silence to me? Time has been telling for a long long time, hasn’t it? Perhaps you would rather rail at him, brother, then attempt to open another conversation with him about Haitian history with the French property owners? Haiti is poor. At least part of its poverty is the failure of people of color looking to get over on other people of color. Both Don and you acknowledge the statement by MLK about this sad observation.

Where such certainty occurs, the opportunity for change or consideration for alternatives, seems to disappear. And basic human respect, one American citizen to another, shows no residual sign of survival either. Is that true with you? Time will tell.

          1. Ron,
Andy sees me and respectfully exchanges words with me. I believe that your problem is with Trump 45, right? So Haiti and Africa (where I have visited, built playgrounds and toured) do not need my defense in this “dialogue”. Perhaps Andy and I can have such a discussion offline without acrimony? Perhaps there are more important issues to discuss with concern in 2018? But you fail to be open to meet to share your knowledge and experience about our City? If I were to act that way over time with an adult Bridgeport resident who happened to be African American as his lived privilege, you would be all over me with criticism. Right? Take a look in the mirror and tell me why you want my comments in your wars when you care not to meet me and know me better? (By the way that would also stop the comments I get from folks of all colors and persuasion who wonder why I bother to keep reminding you that we should meet, listen to each other and engage in activity in Bridgeport that assists all of the people! Time will tell.

  15. While I did acknowledge the part blacks play in the bastardization of the Black community one can’t stop there and not acknowledge MLK concern when he said this, ” And what is it America has failed to hear?…It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity.”

Andy Fardy is a rude and crude individual that like 45 says some of the vile and ugly things I have ever seen in this forum, yet he goes unchallenged by you and others just like his boy 45. If you don’t speak out when you see the wrong things being done then you are guilty of accepting that behavior as appropriate, which just as bad as doing it yourself.

    1. Don, JML has often spoke about Haiti and the volunteer work that he does I’m Haiti and I’m thankful for that but he doesn’t have the courage to speak out against Fardy. I guess calling Haiti and Haitians shitholes is ok for JML. Sad, very sad.

    2. Your challenge is? In all the time we have traded opinions you have one theme and one theme only. Your opinions do not include white america and can be considered racist. Your friend is upset that I called Haiti a shit hole. Its is no sanitation or at the least very little people forced to live in hovels long before the last hurricane, Leaders that have kept the people and country poor. Did I call the people shithead no I did not and never would. How would you and mackey describe Haiti/ What have you and Mackey done to help the people of Haiti and Africa? JML has gone to Haiti on his own and spent at least 2 weeks there I know rebuilding playgrounds what have you and Mackey done? Talk!! Crude Maybe Rude NO
