Rent This Show–It’s Great!

My friend Eli Newsom, who lives downtown, is the artistic director for all the upcoming shows at the Playhouse on the Green. A few months ago I saw a preview of what’s to come at the Playhouse. It’s outstanding. First-class theater downtown. Check it out, tell your friends, support the shows. You’ll be glad you did.

BRIDGEPORT THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS RENT

The roles have been cast, the sets are being built, the lights are being hung, and the tickets are selling for Bridgeport Theatre Company’s inaugural production of RENT, which will run October 15-Nov 6 at the Playhouse on the Green Theatre, located at 177 State Street, Downtown Bridgeport.

Over the course of its groundbreaking 12-year New York run, RENT transformed the definition of musical theater–and changed Broadway forever. Set in NYC’s East Village, RENT is a modern take on the classic Puccini opera, La Boheme. It tells the unforgettable story of a group of young artists learning to survive, falling in love, finding their voices and living for today. BTC has partnered with MFAP, Mid Fairfield AIDS Project, for this event in an effort to join the fight and help spread awareness about how to prevent the spread of this horrible disease.

RENT is the classic musical about love, friendship and community, and the ninth longest running show in Broadway history. Now, RENT is coming to YOUR CITY and BTC has gathered actors from in and around the fabulously talented CT theatre scene, creating an all-star cast which includes, Alisson Wood (Bridgeport, CT), Bill Adams (West Haven, CT), Frank J Cepero (Tarrytown, NY), Jason Lerma (West Haven, CT), Jessica Ferraday (Milford,CT), Heather Abrado (Stamford, CT), Kallid Graham (Bridgeport, CT), Kristin O’Brien (West Haven, CT), Lamont Mack (Stratford, CT),Maggie Pangrazio (Fairfield, CT), Michelle Funaro (North Haven, CT), Miguel Padilla (Bridgeport, CT), Richard Cummings (Norwalk, CT), Ricky Altimirano (New York, NY), and Ryan Little (Norwalk, CT).
