  1. *** Everyone going, have fun, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, be mind-full of where you park, go in groups if possible and be safe! If you see “knuckleheads” committing a crime or about too, call the police & safely record if possible, or try to get important info. you may see like gender, how many, car color, make & model, lic #, race if possible (white, black, brown, etc.) , time & place! Above all, enjoy your day, be safe, don’t drink, text & drive and be respectful of others! ***ENJOY YOUR SUMMER, “ONLY IN BPT.” READERS & BLOGGERS ***

  2. Puerto Rican Day Parade On Chief Garcia Issues Order For Police Coverage
The Puerto Rican Day Parade On Sunday will start on Madison Avenue at Central High School, right on North Avenue, left on Park Avenue down to Seaside Park has always been the best route for any parade here. The Puerto Rican Day Parade has always been a good time for all.

Police Chief Garcia issues order for police coverage for The Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, the question is who’s paying for that police coverage because there has been problems in the past with groups holding parades that the city was demanding that the parade had to pay for that police coverage.

    1. Ron, the taxpayers are paying for it. If the request went as a “side job” extra duty event, then whoever “contracted” it would pay. Garcia sent out a directive and declared an “emergency” therefore per the contract, personnel will be ordered back and assigned to cover the event. (Probably on an inverse seniority basis). Depending on the number of cops assigned there will be a certain number of upper rank officers assigned as well to “supervise”. All on “overtime” so it’s a costly event.
      Cheers!

    1. Ron maybe Bridgeport will have it once the city gains independence from some of the self serving, corrupt, and uneducated people that control everything.
Those are 3 separate categories independent of each other but as you know, some of Bridgeport’s elected, appointed, or anointed can fit in either one, two or all three. ….cheers!!

  3. This is what I don’t get, well I do have my assumption. To my point on Christopher Columbus. Why isn’t there a national outcry to cancel/change the Puerto Rican Day celebration like there was/is for Italian’s celebration, Columbus Day, to Indigenous Day? Considering Columbus/killer has never stepped foot on American soil after they conquered the Natives.

Well, I should say England, France, and Spain conquered the natives and took their land in the New World after Columbus founded/discovered it, with inhabitants. So for the most part, Americans took/conquered Britain and took the land from them, consisting of the 13 colonies, fought and bought most of the MidWest, west of the 13 colonies from France, and conquered/took the remaining, west coast, and parts of the south, for Spain.

My point being, I came to a conclusion, it’s not about party, R’s Vs D’s considering they, R’s, and D’s seem to flip on positions on blacks in America. I mean what party establishes itself, R’s, and with their very first president, Lincoln, fights one of the bloodiest wars America has seen to end slavery and grants “qualified newly free slavers voting rights. Only to be the party against them and is now seemingly trying to take/suppress those rights. While the party that fought to preserve slavery and created the harsh/underclass conditions under Jim Crow is now the party that gets 95% of the black vote.

So when I see people calling for the removal of Columbus and calling for the changing Columbus Day/Italian Heritage Day to Indigenous Day and not Puerto Rican Day celebration it’s not about Columbus or the history of the times. It‘s about the type of government and economic control. The Oligarchies of the Republic/Capitalism, and the Oligarchies of Democracy/Socialism. Each battling for the hearts and minds of the “people” 🙂 for more control/power.

Each needed, each flawed. I’m sure judge, ghetto parker, Lopes can attest to the Republic/laws are not always just. Everyone can attest to Socialism will not bring equality to everyone. I mean in a school, like everything else, who will become principal or a custodian working side by side in the same building. I very much doubt liberal principles are going to take a pay cut or care to see a custodian get the same pay as them.

I mean “ From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. Who, the government gets to say one’s ability and needs.

    But what about the wants?

So you have to ask, what type of dominant government is best, for they are both needed, will generate the most/wants, not just provide the needs for the people? Let us not forget Healthcare is a need not a want. JS

That being said, considering no one is calling for Puerto Rican Day to be changed to Indigenous Day. I do have somewhat of an issue with how Columbus was/is being used as a slight to Italians and their celebration for one’s agenda, be it religious, racist, or Anti-American/Marxist. If you are/were calling for Columbus statues/celebration to be changed/canceled and not Puerto Rican Day to be changed/canceled, which reason are you doing it for because it is clearly not just/fair in your view.

BTY Just remember of history, you do know Italy fought on the side of Hitler. Well, for ½ of the war. talk about a flip. The Germans are on the march. The Italians, “ the Allies went that way” the Allies are on the march. The Italians, “the Germans went that way”. 🙂

So while people are celebrating Puerto Rican Day and their heritage this Sunday. That is a direct result of Columbus’ ‘discovery”, Italy will be playing in the European Cup against England. Two countries who fought against each other in WWII, a country Americans fought for thier independence and take the land that they took for the Natives, who brought slavery/”indentured servitude” to New World that wasn’t totally abolished until the early 1900s with the Indenture servitude of Asians.

Also, I don’t think any American who is going to the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, who also fought against America in WWII got two atomic bombs dropped on them by Americans, too. represent America should degrade the American flag or anthem while there. It’s like going to someone’s home and complaining about your family problems. JS “people”

P.SHowever, what’s most important is that everyone needs to know and understand American Soccer league is where the European soccer players come to play when they retire. 🙂

Cheers, I’m out of here. 🙂

  4. Don, the history of Francis Scott Key and “The Star-Spangled Banner,” is not known to most Americans and it’s not taught in schools, especially the racist 3rd verse.

“The Star-Spangled Banner,” originally called “The Defense of Fort M’Henry,” has more than one verse. The second half of the third verse ends like this:

“No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

These lyrics are a clear reference to the Colonial Marines, according to Jefferson Morley, author of “Snow-Storm in August: Washington City, Francis Scott Key, and the Forgotten Race Riot of 1835.” They are clearly meant to scorn and threaten the African Americans who took the British up on their offer, he wrote in a recent essay for The Washington Post. Key surely knew about the Colonial Marines, and it’s even possible he saw them among the contingent of British ships that sailed into Baltimore Harbor.

“Did you know that our National Anthem celebrates the murder of Black Americans?”

    1. Comrade is that fair, honest, or accurate to say that those lyrics were ever America’s national anthem? https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/the-ugly-reason-the-star-spangled-banner-didnt-become-our-national-anthem-for-a-century/

These lyrics were added from the start of the Civil War and was adopted as America’s National Anthem

“When our land is illumined with Liberty’s smile,
If a foe from within strike a blow at her glory,
Down, down with the traitor that dares to defile
The flag of her stars and the page of her story!
By the millions unchained, who our birthright have gained,
We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained!
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
While the land of the free is the home of the brave.”

This is why people are critical of CRT, Critical Race Theory, who claim it’s a foe from within and a traitor to America. Traitor might be harsh, let’s say Marxist (socialisam) over Capitalism, even a broken clock is right two times a day. 🙂

Comrade, your post reminds me of when Ernie and I were going at it on OBI, nothing like him and Maria though 🙂 And he had to make a racial conjecture post to conjure up racial emotions about Jesus being black because it was “taught” in the black community Jesus was black because of a vague, skewed, and misleading and complete Bible verse that Jesus’ hair was white like wool, To be fair there are claims Buddha was black because of statues of his hair, which are actually snails. 🙂

However, comrade they a more problematic philosophically than trying to “teach” conjuring up racial emotion in the blacks communities that America is a purely racist system and that is trying to take away their Bibles and their gun, not just the legal ones

P.S They say, Mohammad is depicted as white, vividly and expressively in the Quran. Spread the word. 🙂

  5. *** Since some are wondering who pays for the Puerto-Rican Parade in Bpt. Lets wonder the same about the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & the Memorial Day Parade, Juneteenth, Barnum Day/4th July, Columbus Day? *** And as far as the Star Spangled banner & National Anthem is concerned; do you really think any of the patriotic words, etc. meant Native American’s, immigrants of color, indentured servants, slaves or even women in some cases??? *** Which is funny when “republicans mostly”, not only though. Make a big deal about kneeling, sitting not standing or removing your hat, during the playing or saying of these patriotic lyrics! *** No wonder they don’t want real american dark history taught in american schools! ***

  6. Mojo, not sure who you’re referring to when you said those who don’t want real American dark history being taught in schools, I will assume “white” people though.

Those Patriotic words should mean something, if not, it’s Un-American. I have/had no problem with the protests of athletes taking a knee, not because those words didn’t mean anything, but because they do, and it was within their right to do so if they felt that those words and America weren’t living up to its creed. Besides the type of protest, kneeling, I don’t think most understand the meaning behind it anyway. People see what they want to see, and everyone could see racist unfair treatment in policing and in America. A battle that has been going on since its conception, that is being taught in schools. What do those patriotic words mean to you though?

I don’t think people really have a concern for their own words, that is mostly agenda-driven BS when it comes to politics, never mind words in a patriotic national anthem. So who is paying for the (brown) PR Day, (white) St. Patrick’s Day, (patriots) Memorial Day, (Black) Juneteenth, (white-ish) Columbus Day, or (Port’s residents/America) Barnum Day/4th of July, an army of city personnel that got a cat, who found its way on a bridge, and left alone would have found it way down, maybe? To answer your question, Socialism is paying for it.

It’s not totally about capitalism/socialism or R’s vs Ds when it comes to American dark history, more than how that history will be used/skewed and expressed for one’s agenda. Case in point Comrades Ron’s post/link. That is not America’s National Anthem. So why did he say it’s Our anthem in his presentation, or make a presentation, dramatic as it was, on it at all? Knowing full well it was not accurate and misleading? It’s not my national anthem. Is it yours? That is a double-edged lie in itself though. As I said, it’s a means to win hearts and minds, and a mind is a fragile thing for people to see what they want to see, most of the time.

Race/racism is the path of least resistance, and America is very unique in that regard. It’s not as though dark/ugly American history is not being taught in schools. CRT is dissecting dark/ugly human history and singling it out racially and ideologically. Do you think CRT teaching will point out/stress that Democrat lead presidency, failed to act/just let it happen, to stop a genocide/slaughter of Rwandans from killing each other, based on their social class? Or what party held the presidency that created a crime bill that was extremely disproportionally unjust against blacks and their communities in that systematic racism that CRT teaches?

However, there is a dark/ugly side in American human history, like everywhere else and throughout human history. I don’t think that the dark side can or will escape CRT teaching either. When it is taught that white people are born privileged and adherently racist. That is teaching racism and animosity in a mindset, and it’s not much of a difference than when the German’s taught their people their “white race” is a superior race. In fact, it’s almost the flip side of it. Hell, it’s not even education or history. It’s psychology/indoctrination.

Here’s a Privilege, It’s a privilege to be an American. If it wasn’t, people wouldn’t want to migrate here or have a border crisis that made AOC crying at its gate, under Trump. That she would later claim the mass illegal migration crisis at the border is caused by colonial/white racism, under Biden. Which was baffling and ironic. I mean you have white racism in America that systematically kept down/abusing non-whites at the same time white racism is drive non-white to flee there own country and seek refuge in America for a better life for them and their family. But don’t worry. That border crisis seems to be over, at least in the educational national news outlets, I mean informative news programs.

P.S you know I literally got shut down and kicked out of class, escorted off NCC campus because I made a presentation on the existence of God, and why you shouldn’t burn the American flag. This type of teaching on both sides has been going on for a very long time, well before CRT and it’s not just about race in America, and this fight/game is not exclusively race, black and white,

BTY just look at the white dude in front instigating and inciting an attack, and when it does. He takes off. JS

  7. Mojo, you make some good points, there are people who are scare to know the past history of America so they they use CRT as a reason not to know American history. All one has to do is to read American history like “The Star-Spangled Banner” and who Francis Scott Key was. Slavery is written into the Constitution Of the United States and for whites being discriminated against there’s a really big difference because whites have protected skin coloring, these are just facts. If you want to talk about (CRT) critical race theory well “The Star-Spangled Banner” is a good example of CRT by Francis Scott Key.

Complete version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” showing spelling and punctuation from Francis Scott Key’s manuscript in the Maryland Historical Society collection.

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, ‘Tis the star-spangled banner – O long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation! Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
