City Councilwoman Maria Pereira, facing multiple felony charges for alleged election fraud from her 2023 race, again prevailed on Tuesday losing the walk-in vote but carried by her absentee ballot harvesting that led to her arrest early this year. Her running mate Keyla Medina also won in a close vote over council incumbent Samia Suliman and 138th District Leader Kevin Monks.
In the peculiar world of city politics, more votes were cast by absentee ballots than walk-in votes in the Upper East Side covering the JFK and Hooker precincts.
Unofficial returns show that Suliman and Monks won the JFK precinct including absentees 202 and 178 respectively to Medina 162 to Pereira 152.
But, Pereira’s home precinct Hooker tells a different story. The machine count was even across the board but absentee ballots clobbered the opponents.
Overall, according to unofficial returns: Monks 300, Suliman 311, Medina 336, Pereira 335.
They just can’t stop…none of them,AB fraud in Bpt has been a normal operating procedure for so long,that even when indicted & having a court date the same day as a primary doesn’t deter them.It’s ponderous really..
Isn’t it interesting that Gen Now and all of the Gomes supporters are silent when their preferred candidates lost badly on the machines, but still won the primary because of ABs. All you hear now is CRICKETS!
Miss Pereira thinks that this whole AB thing is a joke. Keep poking the bear and find out. Maria can say what she wants to the state and the feds, but she does the opposite when she’s stealing those ABs.
And by the way, Maria was running around talking about how popular she is in her district. Well look at those returns. It looks like she’s not the Queen of the 138th like she claims!

I guarantee you that before the cock crows three times, Maria and Kayla won’t be partners any more. And I guarantee that the state and feds are looking into every one of those ABs that Maria P submitted in this election.
Ernie,you failed to mention Castillo,Wanda,and a bunch of others who are STILL fraudulently collecting AB’s and think it’s a “joke” also..Just because they play for your “team” don’t forget them when you talk about AB’s.. Pick a side,stand up to them all,stop fearing Mario’s wrath..
What is it? Same thing , different way same result or same thing same way same result? What has the state done to make sure that AB’s process is done correctly besides charging people after the election is over?

Other than having state personnel shadow the dozen or so people who have been identified as cheating the AB system,meaning if Maria hands out an AB to a person,someone from the state has to physically see the person sign it,and the notarize it on the spot..Bpt’s DTC’s AB operation is huge,seems like most are involved one way or another,it isn’t feasible to send watchdogs for them all..This is a organized AB fraud operation that Bpt’s DTC has built over the years…
I get it Harvey, Seems like a larger in person turn out on election day, or a even early voting on several days before the actual election day would be enough to negate the impact of the AB’s. How about early voting at the senior centers and community rooms with lunch provided? Seems like the AB’s tilt the scales every year and whoever is better at the game wins. What can the State do to make it easier for people to vote without AB’s ?
