  1. Cliff, the mailman: what a dumb idea!
The USPS keeps raising their prices despite their awful fiscal situation. Without government backing the USPS would’ve been gone long ago. It would’ve sunk from its own weight. Today, the USPS goes the final inches while UPS and Fed Ex travel the miles that make money.
Cliff’s suggestion would cripple American commerce and result in mega-bankruptcies.
    That’s no reason to cheer.

    1. It must be 5 o’clock somewhere. It’s the United States Postal Service, it’s a service not a for profit business. Amtrack is the best at losing money.

While Amtrak has lost money every year since 1970, it does intend to return a profit some day. Despite losing $194 million in 2017, it was still 15% less than 2016, and the company has been reducing its losses every year since 2012.Mar 27, 2019

        1. I see that you agree with what I said about the United States Postal Service and Amtrak. They both have been determined by the federal government that these two supply a necessary service that America needs and that government will support these services, SERVICES. They are not a for profit business, of they make a profit fine, if they don’t make it profit then the federal government will pickup the difference.
