  1. Donald Trump is the true “Manchurian Candidate.” Trump is the best thing that could of happen for the Democratic Party because he is taking down the Republican Party. This is a onion just slowly peeling away layer by layer just like Watergate.

  2. Give me a break. Trump is a psychological basket case. Any one who followed NYC “society” knew this. Unfortunately, the white trash from Pennsylvania,Ohio,Michigan,Iowa and Wisconsin were fooled by The Great Impostor.

      1. You are an asshole dude. As a White man (according to my birth certificate) I take offense to your “white trash” label. I agree that Trump voters made a huge mistake and it was most likely intentional on their part. I don’t think race had much to do with it. I not sure if you recall the term “Gullorant”. This is a term I coined and it describes people who are simultaneously gullible and ignorant. Gullorant people come in all colors and are not limited to any specific region. Both major political parties take advantage of the Gullorant registered with their party as soon as they are considered one by party operatives. Look like the Trump team did a better job at convincing more Gullorant voters where it matter most such as in Ohio.

        1. ok,Joel. I get your coinage of that new word-“gollorant.” I apologize that you took offense at the term “white trash.” In the levels of pejorative labels,I would not classify it as offensive as the “n” word.Others may disagree. I will re-label.From Wiki..””White trash” is a derogatory American English racial slur referring to poor white people, especially in the rural southern United States. The label signifies lower social class inside the white population and especially a degraded standard of living. The term has been adopted for people living on the fringes of the social order, who are seen as dangerous because they may be criminal, unpredictable, and without respect for authority whether it be political, legal, or moral.[1] The term is usually a racial slur,[2] but may also be used self-referentially by working class whites to jokingly describe their origins or lifestyle.” So I will use the term-poor white people. The reason that I thought of poor white people is that there is an analysis that Trump benefited by votes from poor white people especially in Pennsylvania,Ohio,Michigan,Iowa,Wisconsin. There is increasing commentary that Hillary Clinton did not run a good campaign-amongst other reasons as well. There is also the term that Clinton coined describing Trump supports-basket of “Deplorables.”

  3. Good observations, Ron. Sometimes homeopathic medicine is the way to go… You introduce a bit of the poison/pathogen into the system to stimulate the body’s into re-equilibrating and removing the gamut of pathogens/toxins…

For Connecticut we needed three different pathogens to make us realize that the establishments of both parties needed to be shown the door (Roland, Rell, Malloy)… The problem in Connecticut is that we don’t have a renaissance person seeking the Governor’s job — and even if we did, the aforementioned medicines were over-applied and have made the “patient” too sick to rally without some critical care…

At the national level, we had a succession of post-Kennedy incompetents/loose cannons, with the exceptions of Carter and Obama. Unfortunately, Carter and Obama were to civil and too intelligent to push through needed changes efficaciously… (Both made green, alternative-energy-independence top priorities and had that snatched from them by big oil… Obama tried to get an effective national healthcare policy in place, but was forced to make a bad compromise, a la the AHCA, because of the power of the insurance lobby, the AMA, and the fiscal/social conservatives from both parties (e.g., Hillary, et al., for the D’s and Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, et al., for the R’s)…

Maybe now, when Trump and his co-conspirators are removed from office, we can get a real progressive, such as Bernie Sanders, into the White House to bring US economic and social policy back into the civilized world…

  4. Ok..Joel..I saw saw you hanging out in the outside corridors in City Hall during the CC meeting concerning the “welcoming community” CC meeting and you were having a lot of fun with other Bridgeport community leaders. Laughing and joking is the same old BS from former BPT community leaders. What do you say?

  5. *** Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Trump is used to giving orders, not taking them ! He also does not like being told, “no”! The white silent majority that had there fill of Obama by-passed Bernie for Trump the N.Y con-man & They certainly did not like Hillary. They think getting rid of illegals and building a wall will bring back lots of good paying jobs. Slowing the amount of Moslems coming into our country will slow down terrorist in America and doing away with the EPA will same federal money since the talk of climate warming is bogus! Let’s not forget disbanding Obama Care for Trump Care made up in a 100 days. No need to see Trumps tax records cause he’s the commander & chief, no? ***

      1. Andy Fardy, How can you still praise Trump in light of all of the Russian collusion going on??? I think Paul Manafort , Flynn, Comey Ivanka and Jared will do him in. They are all cheating liars.

      2. Keep up on current events, Andy baby. The other 99 members of the U.S. Senate will force Mitch McConnell to begin impeachment proceedings against The Donald.

    1. Not a Trump supporter, however Steve the facts are – The Republican Party has a stunning 45-vote edge in the House, where it would take a majority to impeach. And even if the House voted on Articles of Impeachment, it would take only 35 of the 52 Republican Senators to block conviction, since the Constitution requires a two-thirds majority

  6. I’ll leave the debate up to you on how’s he doing and just address 45. He’s an embarrassment to the presidency of America and not one time has he comported himself presidential. The world is looking at America with confusion and consternation. In other words he’s a hot mess and the world knows it. Had President Barack Obama done anything remotely nefarious as this fool white America would have gone buck wild. Joel my use of white America doesn’t offend your sensibilities does it seeing that you are now white?

    1. Don, I know that I need new prescription for my eye glasses but theu are not that bad I see that Joel doesn’t look white, now as far as what he writes on OIB he seems to be white

  7. As a trump voter who usually voted democrat I took a chance on trump simply because he was not a politician and Hillary being phony but if I had to revote I would not vote for trump again. Imagine if our black president did this he would be impeached already. Trump should be impeached and I will never vote for a republican again tried something different by voting republican and the party has disappointed full of people who don’t like minorities just because not because of policies!

  8. How many of you chiming in on this thread see this chapter of American representative government working out well??
More importantly will you be buying insurance or investments from a rookie salesman; brain surgery from a surgeon who is not a member of the AMA and proud of it but also has not done anything more risky than removing tonsils; or a necessary dental procedure with a “professional” who wants to regale you with his stories of being #1 in his class back in dental school while sticking himself with the novocaine needle and blaming you for that?

The swamp may need draining, but did he ever understand that he was raw meat to the alligators? That integrity is a 24/7 thing and once lost is not regained? And that the US brand is what holds most of us together, paying taxes (and showing our returns as sign of good faith rather than how we beat the system), understanding that perception of conflicts of interest is the least of it (while holding the Trump brand at least with Russian deals higher than the flag), and that building a case for positive change in ACA, tax reform, infrastructure repair, among many tasks, take time and care and detail work with many viewpoints for deals to become real, rather than “I win, you lose”? Have we had anyone on the national scene whose current adult competency is so challenged by failure to “serve” in the military or understand the basics of high school civics, lack of holding elective office previously, and absence of professed moral tenets?? Assuming we survive such a finger on the button, will we cut such slack in the future? Time will tell.
