OIB Party Pictures

Thanks to everyone who attended the annual OIB holiday party. We had a jammin’ time at Tiago’s downtown. It was our largest event yet with a cross section of readers and city officials including several from the Mayor’s Office, staff from Congressman Jim Himes’ office, State Rep. Chris Caruso, City Council President Tom McCarthy and even the Moses of his peeps former State Senator Ernie Newton stopped in. Yes, the rumors were swirling. Thanks to Steve Krauchick from www.doingitlocal.com for the following pix.

  1. *** Great time Lennie, wish I could have stayed longer to see & greet some of the movers, shakers & pretenders. Thanks for the OIB cheer & happy holidays all! *** God bless us all, everyone! ***

    1. Good point TC. I wonder what goes through Lennie’s mind when he sees most of the very same people who cause or contribute to the very same problematic issues he raises on OIB, showing up at the Christmas party and sharing his food?
Yet they never seem to get an appetite to enter the OIB zone to explain, share and discuss the issues they are so willing to discuss while eating off our hands. I did not attend for several reasons: My working hours (shift) has been changed–again!; I’m disgusted by their lack of leadership; I’m going on vacation and I know when I’m back the place (Police Dept.) is going to be a fucking mess–the consequences of no teamwork or supervision; I don’t like to see the hard-working Police Officers and civilians breathing the gray dust–where’s that shit coming from?; Tiago’s is too close a name to Santiago; and I didn’t want to catch fleas.
I so bad needed to talk to Lennie and say hi to Mo and the rest of the Grimaldis.

  2. Hey Lennie, thanks for a nice time. I saw a lot of old friends. I didn’t see my picture LOL. Thanks for the book. Hey Lennie, next book remember I was the first black to head our city council. PS everyone wanted to know what my plans are. One only knows.

    1. Careful what you wish for, Ernie. Lennie may just do that and then follow it with mentioning that you were the first black State Senator to be convicted for corruption.

  3. Thank you Lennie and Maureen for the invitation, the welcome and for convening a group of people who have less or more to do and say about what happens to the City of Bridgeport. Thank goodness you have a personal financial interest in attracting ever more people to your enterprises including OIB the blog, Only In Bridgeport the book, etc. There is no conflict in this. Just good old entrepreneurial energy. Keep attracting writers and readers, please. The City will continue to provide wonderful examples of unique and unforgettable human behavior in the public eye. Have a peaceful holiday with the warmth that family celebrations can bring.

  4. Joel, let me ask you something. You are always talking about what people have done for our city, and haven’t done. You served on the city council, and you made Bridgeport a laughingstock when you went to Hartford and cut your finger off. Did you forget about that? So remember, you really help BPT.
