  2. The Diocese of Bridgeport will welcome Bishop Caggiano as its new institutional leader. It was widely reported his predecessor, now Archbishop of Baltimore, came to Fairfield County to “cleam up the mess” left by his predecessor. That Bishop left for New York where he added Cardinal to his Church titles before retiring.

As Bishop Caggiano becomes institutional leader responsible for over 100 parishes, schools, cemeteries, and other Catholic programs, projects and entities, Church members can hope his pastoral style, personal intelligence, and life experience assists him in necessary work facing him as a Catholic leader in the community of Fairfield County which represents broad examples of significant personal and corporate wealth as well as urban poverty that tends to persist. People of faith are the church and service to all of the people is demonstrated by open, accountable and transparent process and governance. May Bishop Frank use his God-given abilities to humbly become that part of change that serves the people. Time will tell.
