Lamont: Republican Candidates For Governor Silent on ‘Trump’s Cruel Policies’

The Ned Lamont campaign for governor released the following statement on the GOP gubernatorial debate hosted by WSHU, Hearst Media and Sacred Heart University today. Watch debate above. Hartford Courant coverage here.

“What we have heard from the Republican gubernatorial candidates this entire campaign cycle is silence. Silence on Trump’s cruel policies. Silence on his efforts to roll back civil rights and women’s rights. Silence while families are torn apart. Silence on how we move our state forward. As expected, they managed to say a whole lot today without saying anything at all,” said Campaign Manager Marc Bradley. “Our state is at a crossroads, and with so much at stake this election, we need a governor who will stand up and protect Connecticut values, put our state on steady financial footing, and fight for equal opportunities for all residents. Middle class families have paid enough, and silence and a blind allegiance to President Trump isn’t the way to move our state forward.”

  1. Bob Stefanowski, Steve Obsitnik, Mark Boughton, Tim Herbst and David Stemerman the Republican candidates for governor all gave President Donald Trump an “A’’ when asked about his performance so far in the White House. That was comment from one of the host at a Republican debate recently.

Connecticut voters, it can’t get any clearer than the direction and the mindset of the Republicans where 45 has made it impossible for Connecticut taxpayers to write off their property tax and their State incomes taxes off of their federal taxes. “Great performance,” for real?

  2. *** Trump, family, close assoc’s & or supporters have ruined & still are, slowly dismantling the American Republican Party from the politics & party mission it once stood for. Now its GOP Congress Members & State Gov’s, etc.. that are afraid to oppose “45” because they maybe running for re-election? Then there’s other’s who may totally agree with the “shirt & tie” Right-Wing, White Nationalist politics that “45” seems to adhere to, time & time again. Others think that if they stick their Republican heads in the sand or follow the old “Mizaru Monkeys” proverb, as its often refer to in the “Western World” by those who deal with impropriety’s to simply turn a “blind eye”! Weather young or old Republicans, either from the north, south, east or west, with somewhat moderate’s to J.Crow minded conservatives, etc.. After the next U.S “2020”-Presidential election, hopefully without any Russian interference; american voters regardless of color, gender, ethic-background,race, religion or political preference. Will decide & the world will know if in fact the Republican Party is still strong & intact, also weather the country is ready for another possible 4-yrs. of the “Trump & Co.” circus side-show! ***GOD DON’T LIKE UGLY,ESPECIALLY BACK TO BACK, NO?***

  3. David Stemerman was pretty impressive. Without getting into how many toilets he has, unlike Ned, David’s not on the “slow tick.” 🙂 Tim and Mark were typical political politician, Tim a little angrier. Bob reminds me of Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men. I just have one question about David. What the fuck did this poor bastard do to have to give up a billion dollar hedge fund to became a politician and run for Governor of CT? That other dude wasn’t to bad either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfHFleVUb_M

  4. *** The donkey was used by the Andrew Jackson Party because it was a strong will & minded beast, the elephant by the Republicans because of its good memory & its symbol of strength. Today its symbols should be changed to a Circus Clown for the Republican Party & a Circus Juggler for the Dem’s. ***

    1. Mojo, there is NO Republican Party but there’s a “45 Party. The Republican Party has given up it’s core values in order to follow this Democrat.

  5. *** O. D’s initials mean “Over Dose” of R.Wing nationalist B/S; from a “Still in the closet” race mongol that really thinks Trump is the greatest thing since “white sliced bread”! Same way of thinking that the “Philistines” used to think about “Goliath”! And as religion history states, we all know how that ended, no? ***
