Ganim’s Greenwich Game Of Thrones Continues

Lamont Trump hands
Bigger hands? Bigger mansion? From Joe Ganim for governor Facebook page.

Mayor Joe Ganim’s campaign for governor is catching fire from Democratic-endorsed Ned Lamont’s campaign that he’s divisive like Donald Trump. So on Tuesday the Ganim campaign loaded side-by-side images of Lamont and Trump on its Facebook page with a header, “Can you guess which Greenwich house is Ned’s and which one is Trump’s?” Ganim’s contrasting Lamont’s wealth, making issue of the number of bathrooms in his house, against his Average Joe retail persona. Lamont lives in Greenwich. Decades ago Trump lived in Greenwich. The suggestion is how can Lamont be in touch with the people being that rich?

The other day Lamont declared that both he and Ganim decided to make money, Lamont as a businessman and Ganim as mayor, a nuanced reference to Joe living the good life during his first tenure as mayor in the 1990s.

For Ganim this is a way to draw some separation, in part, for his campaign throwing a gubernatorial fundraiser at a Manhattan building owned by Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.

Back in the 1990s Ganim and Trump became friendly when Trump eyed Bridgeport for potential development. Ganim attended the wedding ceremony of Trump’s marriage to Marla Maples, his second wife. Ganim was reticent to criticize Trump shortly after his election as president and steered away from declaring Bridgeport a sanctuary city, preferring the term “welcoming city” when Trump threatened to withhold federal aid to cities.

But in recent weeks both Lamont and Ganim have used Trump as a punching bag, blasting a variety of his presidential policies.

So maybe Ganim’s next charge will be “who has more bathrooms in their house, Lamont or Trump?”

When you’re financially disadvantaged on the campaign trail, to Ganim’s way of thinking, you flush out as many quirky angles as possible, including toilets in Greenwich and knowing the price of milk as part of class warfare strategy.

Three weeks to the Democratic primary.

          1. Honey, perhaps when he is sober. Since he’s your buddy, I’ll give him his 11th. chance to prove himself.

      1. I noticed that some posters here a referring to these two real estate as a house and some as a home. A house isn’t necessarily a home. A home is a house where there is harmony, love, happiness, understanding, etc., among it’s occupants. If there is a house where there is dope or crack being sold, that’ a crack house or a shooting gallery.
In the house Trump lived in, there was very little of the qualities of a home listed above. How many divorces did Trump have? How many allegations of sex out of marriage are there on Trump? Where did Trump say he grabs woman from? You catch my drift, right?
For how long has Ned Lamont live in his HOME? How many times has he been married? How many allegations of Sexual harassment have been filed against Lamont? Now the question is: Which one is a home and which one was a house?

  1. But of curse if Ganim hadn’t been sideline in his career as mayor maybe he’d have 8 bathrioms by now.
And if Ganim had stay in as mayor who know. Maybe on Steal Point wed have one superstore and a couple of minis. Oh wait. That’s what we have today.
Tell us some more of these jokes. They’re hilarious.

  2. C’mon Joe Ganim you own two condos and a home and you got these after serving seven years in prison. How many of those Black people you are recruiting can say the same thing. Your two condos and your home are no different than Ned’s home to the
average Black person, white privilege at its best.

  3. Ganim’s constant “he’s rich, he does not care” tactic is almost similir to Finch’s months and months of “ganim is a felon” tactic. Message gets tired. Ganim played the “I can relate to you” card ti win back the nayor seat when he played on the idea of felons deserving second chances. That resonated with many from bridgeport since many had a friend or family member fighting for second chance after trouble with the law. I don’t think his stratgey of US vs Them works this time. Its all he has since he cannot point to any accomplishments in the past 2 years that originated from him. Parking Meters? Disaster, School funding – non existent, park stickers up tp $15 from $5 when he took office. When he was running for mayor he was always in the minority communities, after election – nothing. Can Mario make enough pizzas to feed the state on primary day like 2 years ago? Doubt it.

      1. JimFox,
The lack of substance (or priorities) is consistent since Joe returned to public office. Things he told the community in his run for Mayor (Stop Raising Taxes) he double crossed the voting public. And administratively he has allowed the public safety police appointment to linger far too long for the sake of open and accountable statistics about a myriad of police and crime issues.

Of most importance to folks in Bridgeport and other urban underfunded locations is Ganim’s neglect of education funding. Ignoring it and you get “intended” consequences, it seems to me. In the meantime the former City Attorney speaks about “unintended consequences” regarding police activity that is not representational of a community that understands and expects certain police behavior. Maybe we will hear more about “internal affairs” where many of the City secrets are kept and few real facts emerge, except in the form of rumors? Time will tell.

  4. I can honestly say that not a single voter has spoken about Lamont’s wealth, his bathrooms, his mansion, his former golf club membership, etc.

I just don’t think Ganim’s attempts are sticking with voters.

  5. Off topic but ,,,,,,,,
The ACLU b*tch slapped Mark Anstasi and his comments to City Council women Karen Jackson.

A spokes person “called Anastasi’s letter a form of “intimidation,” “a veiled threat” and an example of “how city officials can be complicit in shielding police from the public scrutiny,”

  6. Here, here, that’s exactly what I said in my post. Well mine was a little different, but it meant the same. ACLU, step to the side of righteousness and castrate the cities dick (head).

  7. My biggest question is;Why is OIB creating a dubious narrative about the Ganim Gubernatorial campaign? Where are the facts about Ganim’s relevance in The State of Connecticut?

    1. Here are the facts: NOTHING makes you more relevant than being the first in history to win a petition victory and then run against the endorsed candidate in a primary election.

  8. I’ve said this for months…. Mark Anastasi should be fired no matter what the cost to the taxpayers of The City of Bridgeport. Anastasi is poison.

    1. Anastasi crawls from one to another City of Bridgeport Government hearings and he tries to intimidate BPT elected officials but also non-elected volunteers.FIRE MARK ANASTASI.

      1. At least i live in BPT. I know that LG protected you in the past. I will defer judgement to LG. I really don’t think I’ve gone over personal self-identity issues and I really do thinh that I stick to the issue. But Local Eyes and I are the chasm in CT. Suburban versus urban…………

    2. Frank Gyure, no way will Mayor Joe Ganim get rid of Hamilton Burger, Police Chief Perez and David Dunn because they do Ganim dirty work plus they know where the bodies are buried.

  9. I heard portions of the Republican debate last night and checked out the websites for everyone but Obstinik (for no reason other than didn’t get to it – both Stefanowski and Stemerman at least lay out measurable plans for change – Lamont and Ganim were both underwhelming – and I favor the Democrats.

It was interesting to listen to them pander to Senior Citizens saying we won’t tax SS and pensions. And talked about eldercare costs – some states allow you to deduct medical costs from your gross income – but some plans are more thoroughly presented than others

  10. I have too – fortunately we had the resources to give my mom what she wanted but we took care of a loved one at home – you are like a frog in hot water – you know its stressful but not how stressful because it just overwhelms you. Eldercare is Big Business – and costly – not sure how in one breathe a politico can say they will make it less costly without showing where the revenue to assist is coming from – the aides don’t make a lot per hour
