Here Comes The Asphalt

From Mayor Joe Ganim:

Mayor Ganim announced today that the City of Bridgeport is ahead of schedule and will begin paving the week of July 9, 2018. The city has completed the milling process to level and smooth the roads earlier than anticipated. Paving will now take place Tuesday, July 10th through Wednesday, July 18th.

During this time, drivers are continued to be advised of the following:
o Adhere to “No Parking” signs that will be posted to roadways 24 hours prior to paving. These areas will be enforced and towing will take place if a car is parked on a road that is planned to be paved.
o Follow the detour signs that will be posted while paving is taking place. Please plan accordingly and understand that it may take extra time to get to your destination.
o Drive carefully and look out for raised structures and manhole covers that may be still be exposed and raised until paving has taken place.

A second phase of milling and paving will take place in September 2018. For more information, visit the City of Bridgeport Public Facilities website at www.Bridgeportct.gov/PublicFacilities.

  1. Asphalt…”Eau de Election”… A blended scent consisting of the petroleum-based aromatics residing in the residual tar of petroleum distillation, blended with “Eau de Overtime” and “Eau de Campaign Contribution”, creating a powerful, urban-suburban voter-mobilization effect when worn by local candidates seeking reelection and higher office… (Patents held by Corrupticut Labs, Inc.. Available only through licensed Democratic and Republican retail outlets… Available for a limited time only…)

  2. It’s nice they pave the streets, but why is it a week later you see someone digging it up, why? Then the street is not the same they patch it but it does not hold up
