Good Grief, Christina; What Next?

Christina Ayala
State Rep.-elect Christina Ayala

From Dan Tepfer, CT Post:

Incoming state Rep. Christina Ayala, awaiting trial in a hit and run case, was arrested again on domestic violence charges.

Ayala was charged Tuesday with breach of peace after police said she slapped her boyfriend following an argument late Monday night at their 49 Hillside Ave. home.

Police said Ayala tried to use her position to dissuade them not to arrest her.

She was scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Superior Court.

  1. Enough. Christina needs to step aside and a special election should held. This is way beyond one instance of poor judgment. Clearly Ayala has a number of issues that preclude her adequately performing her duties as a legislator. Lack of character for starters. Bridgeport hardly needs more embarrassing elected officials.

  2. Come on folks! Think about this: Perhaps Christina Ayala is the right person to send to Hartford. For too many years we’ve elected people who promised to bring common sense to Hartford and all we got left is ‘zero cents.’
Who better to send to Hartford and slap some sense into some members of the male club up there? She can start with her cousin Andres Ayala and I’m sure the rest of them will fall in line. Word has it Andres Ayala and Americo Santiago are considering Chris Rosario as her replacement as soon as they can get her to leave.

  3. The seemingly appropriate thing this woman needs to do is graciously resign and tend to whatever issues are going on in her private life. Behavior such as this along with her previous arrest does not demonstrate leadership qualities let alone moral fiber. The electorate and her peers should not have to tolerate the lack of sound judgement she so sorely lacks. Her behavior is clearly unbecoming of an elected official. She needs to spare herself as well as the rest of Bridgeport’s delegation any more embarrassment and step aside.

    1. Christina is no Jackie Kennedy, not even close. Her behavior is shameful and to put it mildly, unlawful as well. Not to mention this article exposed the fact she does not even reside in the district she will be representing.

  4. Thanks, Mario; thanks a shitload. Ms. Ayala proves the DTC has been fielding extremely bad candidates at the state and local level (stand up, Marty McCarthy).

  5. “does not live in the district,” well neither does her cousin Andres. He resides somewhere on Cleveland Avenue. How can people live with these lies? If one loves their district so much … why not live in it? Who does one complaint/report this to? And most of all who will listen and take action? The AB Queen got away with not living in the district for a long time and people just looked the other way. Along comes the re-districting and she bamboozled other councilmembers and they, for not paying attention … she got away with making those changes (adding her street).
Come on bloggers, what can one do to stop this lying as to where you live?
