BOE Chair Shares Timeline To Replace Fairfield-Bound School Chief Testani

Superintendent of Schools Michael Testani has been hired by Farifield to lead that school district.

Statement from Board of Education Chair John Weldon:

Mr. Testani will be with us for the next 90 days, per his contract. His last day will be Nov. 23rd. I am hopeful of us having his successor selected by then, but they likely wouldn’t be able to start for another 3-6 mos. later. Once we know a start date, we’ll be able to look for someone to fill the gap. That person may be internal, or we may find someone from the list of retired superintendents that is maintained by the CT Assn. of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS) for that purpose. Alternately, if we are a few weeks from his last day and still haven’t selected a successor, we can review potential interim candidates at that point. The immediate priority is to get the search for a permanent successor moving.
