However, if it swings in Trump’s favor it’s because teh D’s progressive/liberal wing of the party stopped governing and went all in the social culture war.
I would have preferred Tulsi though, Teh splits D’s tend to compromise in actually getting some needed Domesticate policies, particularly in the healthcare/insurance realm, considering I feel Trump and Harris are on the same side of that coded political identity coin.
However, maybe there’s hope for Harris in that regard, and conventional wisdom on compromising has changed somewhat. They didn’t try to blow Trump’s head off because they feared a resurgence of people’s inner racism/anti-America and BLM protesting and justice shopping. JS
I say the inner racism/anti-America because people I watched an old black lady cowering on the floor before a white cop shot her in the face. That pales in comparison to a black man who was arrested leveled to several officers pinning him on the ground and a white officer too stupid to realize kneeling in a man’s neck who is have a medical episode can and did kill him.
Hell broke loose for Floyed, perhaps understandably, to a systemic problem within the police, race-related. However, No justice and no peace seem only if it can be attracted to racism. I mean we witnessed several black officers beat a man to death, worse the Rodney King, peace prevailed because the officers were black themselves.
An old black lady gets shot in the face and because Biden (D) is an officer and not Trump (R) compromise ensues that blacks are relatively silent for their white counterparts. JS
First time ever I voted straight Democrat. I can’t imagine ever voting for a republican again after the Support shown for Trump by his party and followers. This campaign season has been, at best, surreal.
Jennifer: You chose the perfect word for American politics with the presence of DJT — “surreal.” Maybe tomorrow we come out of the sulfurous fog and ominous organ-dirge background music…
Jennifer,
We are awakening this morning to face the dawn of a new reality in the US.
Perhaps we have put too much faith in the storylines delivered to us each day? And what sources will we look to as the country adjusts to the new leadership and “powers conferred” to DT, with a Senate and House staffed and ready to deliver, and a Court prepared to adjudicate historic threats? Do we look to the Founders for an answer, or to economics where likely few will ‘go without’ this Thanksgiving, or to the spiritual traditions that have been a diverse but active underpinning to democracy but are separate from “political designs”, aren’t they?
Will we rise to the occasion of personal responsibility, that includes a new ability to listen to our neighbors in a universal search for the facts that need to frame our choices in truth? Time will tell.

This is not the America I wanted to wake up to this morning.
