What, And Miss The Election?

Prague
Will they send their absentee ballots from Prague?

The Bridgeport Regional Business Council is organizing a trip to Prague, Vienna and Budapest, Oct. 31 to Nov. 10. Alas, I’ll not make it. Priorities … priorities. There’s a general election to cover. This trip will certainly dampen the turnout. Hey wait, line up those absentee ballots, baby! Maybe yahooy and Anna will attend. From Paul Timpanelli, BRBC chief:

The Business Council sponsored two very successful trips – one in 2009 to China and one in 2010 to Egypt.

We are now ready to offer a new opportunity for 2011! Through Collette Vacations, the Bridgeport Regional Business Council will sponsor a journey to the Imperial Cities featuring Prague, Vienna and Budapest. The trip will feature Hradcany Castle, Jewish Quarter, Schoenbrunn Palace, Grinzing Evening, Hungarian Horse Show, Mathias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion, and Renaissance Dinner.

We will leave on October 31st and return on November 10th. We will spend a few nights in Prague, then off to Vienna, and the last few days in Budapest. The trip will include – round trip air fare from New York directly to Prague, four star quality hotels, 15 meals, provided tours and internal transportation, and transportation to and from the New York Airport all for $2,799. It will cost another $200 for air taxes and fees/surcharges and $200 should you choose to purchase insurance.

We will be doing an “Ask Your Questions” session and slideshow presentation at our offices, at 10 Middle Street, 14th Floor, Downtown Bridgeport, on Monday, April 11, 2011, at 5:30, so let us know also if you will be joining us for that session.

We promise that you will not be disappointed in this trip.

If you would like to attend the informational session on April 11 or learn more about this year’s trip, please respond no later than Thursday, April 7, to lindley@brbc.org or by calling Stephanie at (203) 335-3800. Thank you.

  1. Timpanelli is another political hack that needs to leave Bpt and go back to suburbia. Hey Paul, maybe I have got it all wrong & you have a plan that will actually help Bpt?

How does this sound to you—Bring Europeans over here!!! We can show them the historic port cities of Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford & New Haven. We can lodge them in local homeless shelters where they can talk about the joys of democracy as they dine on baloney & cheese sandwiches provided by our finest soup kitchens. Taxes & gratuities included. Welcome to America!!!

    1. Not even the local jails serve bologna and cheese on white bread. (Cotto salami is the lunchtime fare.) I’m wondering why this is news. Publishing this sort of bullshit only creates a veneer of respectability. Paul Timpanelli is a scumbag. He lives in the lavender swamp bordering the northern and eastern edges of Bridgeport. His organization purports to be civic-minded but he’s just another harvey milquetoast connected to the old-boy network.
