From Mayor Joe Ganim’s Facebook page:
Today we signed the new city bond closing documents, and here is what that means for you: a renovated John Winthrop School in the North End, a brand-new Special Education School at A.B. Skane School site, and state-of-the-art Elementary School in the East End, part of a citywide construction program that will rebuild our schools into state-of-the-art learning facilities. This also funds new playgrounds, parking lots, and more…
Stay tuned as we provide more updates
Thanks to Bridgeport’s strong A bond rating and years of strong financial management, we’re doing this with favorable terms that save taxpayers tens of millions of dollars through debt refinancing, while maintaining the lowest mill rate in the city’s recent history.
Grateful to OPM Director Patricia St. Louis and Finance Director Ken Flatto for their leadership on this. Bridgeport’s future is being built one investment at a time
