The thing about City Councilwoman Eneida Martinez, she’s not into threading needles. She gets right to the point.
Get in her face and she pushes right back.
Martinez and her East End council partner Ernie Newton were interviewed by News 12 reporter Frank Recchia to highlight a decades-long dilapidated sidewalk hazard in their district, at Bishop and Connecticut Avenue, that’s being repaired by the city because the landlord of the property would not.
Under these circumstances, the city repairs it, issues a bill and liens the property.
For her part, Martinez posted this update on her Facebook page with a note to “haters.”
The purpose of the press conference was fulfilled, all the negative comments don’t FAZE me. Some of those commenting, I helped in there worst times, when they FACED HOMELESSNESS, when they had nothing. Those same people I see face to face 1 to 1 and they have nothing to say to Eneida Martinez. So with that being said I will CONTINUE to serve my district, I don’t care who likes me and who doesn’t. GOD LOVES ME, BECAUSE IF HE DIDN’T I WOULDN’T BE STANDING OR BLESSED AS I AM. GLORY TO THE POWER OF THE LORD, NOT THE HATERS!!!

Great job team!
