The Recollective Multi-Vendor Marketplace Celebrates One Year Bringing Together Antiques, Vintage Furniture, Collectibles

I spent time at 588 State Street as a young scribe inhaling the fumes of the printing presses. News for the nostrils. Now you know why I’m a little out there. The Bridgeport Post-Telegram newspapers were produced at 410 State Street but printed up the street close to Park Avenue.

The printing presses of my youth are now antiques so it’s fitting the space is occupied by the Recollective, celebrating its first anniversary Nov. 22, melding more than 50 independent dealers across two buildings including “vintage fashion and antique furnishings to art, collectibles, and unexpected treasures, every corner offers something worth discovering.”

The building is owned by New York-based Pillar Property Management which also possesses 410 State Street and many others properties throughout the city such as Bijou Square Downtown and converting the former AT&T property on John Street into housing. It may also be involved in completing the Honey Locust Square project in the East End.

“The Recollective brings together more than 50 independent vintage and antique dealers under one roof, and we’re working to strengthen our connections with Bridgeport’s small-business and creative communities,” says Justine, manager of the shop.

Highlights:
