The Park City Pass, UConn Women’s Hoops, Tree Pick-up

From Mayor Bill Finch:

Tune in to WICC-600AM every Wednesday morning at 6:50 a.m., when City Spokeswoman Elaine Ficarra joins WICC personality Tony Reno for the “Park City Pass.” It’s your weekly guide to all the family friendly fun in the Park City. Tune in. Tell your friends–Bridgeport is where it’s at–baseball, hockey, museum, festivals, the beach, ziplining–you name it, you can find it in Bridgeport.

The defending NCAA champion, UConn Huskies women’s basketball team will play a home game in Bridgeport on Saturday, January 11 at Webster Bank Arena.

The unbeaten Huskies, currently the top-ranked team in the nation, will host the Temple Owls at 12 noon in American Athletic Conference contest.

The Huskies last played at Webster Bank Arena on April 1, 2013 in the NCAA Bridgeport Regional, defeating Kentucky 85-53 on their way to a record-setting sixth consecutive Final Four and an eighth Division 1 National Championship.

The UConn men’s basketball team played a home game at Webster Bank Arena in December, defeating Eastern Washington 82-65. A crowd of 9,274 attended the Huskies’ first home game outside of Storrs and Hartford since 1987. It was the largest attendance for a sporting event at Webster Bank Arena.

There are some, but not many, tickets still available for Saturday’s women’s basketball game.

  1. *** When is the city going to “start back” on their regular garbage and recycled items pick-up? They’re behind on the Westside with both since New Year’s! *** Most good Uconn B-Ball seat tickets have been sold or given to city employees and friends! ***
