Next week, 3 winners will be chosen from among 16 applicants who paid a $25,000 non-refundable fee and filed thick business plans with the state Department of Consumer Protection in the hopes of becoming medical cannabis providers for more than 1,300 patients registered across the state.
“I would say we are very anxious to get going,” said Joe Palmieri, of Easton, who has proposed plans for a Bridgeport grow facility. “You’re holding your breath. I hope that being in business for 20 years gives me a definite edge. I have a good track record in Connecticut. I’m Connecticut-grown.”
