Sarah Jessica Parker: My Place, June 14

Sarah Jessica Parker
Would you turn down this invite?

Talk about an email subject matter tease: My place, June 14. It’s from Sara Jessica Parker. Perhaps an invite to her pad is the result of OIB’s sensual political commentaries. Curses, it’s an eblast for a Barack fundraiser. I’m waiting for Melania Trump’s invitation on behalf of Mitt Romney.

Lennie —

It’s my honor to invite you to take part in an event I’m hosting at my home with the President and First Lady on June 14th.

If you can make a donation of any amount today, you’ll be automatically entered to win two tickets to New York to join us.

Just before Election Day in 2008, I went to an Obama campaign office in New York and called some undecided voters.

I believed then, as I do now, that if we all chipped in and did our part, we would not only make history, but create meaningful change that so many Americans needed.

For me, this election is even more important than 2008.

As a woman, a mother, and an entrepreneur, I need to believe our country can be a place where everyone has a fair shot at success.

This November’s election will determine whether we get to keep moving forward, or if we’re forced to go back to policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden–while people like me, who don’t need tax breaks, get extra help.

I’m hosting this event on June 14th because there is so much at stake this year, and I want to keep doing what I can.

I hope you’ll help me welcome President Obama and the First Lady to New York.

It should be fabulous.

Donate $14 or whatever you can to be automatically entered to win:

Hope to see you there,

Sarah Jessica

  1. “… policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden–while people like me, who don’t need tax breaks, get extra help.”

Really, Jessica? Why not take that extra help the government is giving you and donate it to your middle-class family? I bet Jessica has and will give the maximum allowed political contribution. Fourteen dollars? Obama will come down to New York for $14 when he can get those $25,000 a plate donations? There’s something ‘Big’ for Jessica here. No Lennie, it’s not what you’re thinking.

  2. Go figure! Why should we be looking to SJP for cutting-edge advocacy, much less commonsense advice on matters of Federal import like a Presidential election, tax policy, or “what is at stake this year” (in contrast to what was at stake four years ago)?

Now if I wished to know about what day-spa is hot, what new bar is not, or where to buy the latest ‘must have’ pair of designer shoes cheap, I would look her up. But it’s nice to know what $14 is worth these days, isn’t it?

Lennie, thanks for letting us know what you get invited to these days. How about sharing one of your invites to ‘Aunt Carmela’s’ Sunday dinners (assuming you have an Aunt Carmela)? First the five courses of Italian dishes (eat more, you’re skinny, you look sick) and then several more for your American side (and if you eat that much you will feel sick). Mangia, of course. A nap afterward. And then something for reflux, maybe. Time will certainly tell.

Lennie, this is not an invitation. It’s clearly a request for a political contribution. Sarah Jessica Parker is making it quite clear she will fix this alleged contest. “… automatically entered to win two tickets to New York to join us.”

“… I hope you’ll help me welcome President Obama and the First Lady to New York.”

    “… It should be fabulous.”

It sounds like you already won the contest, Lennie!
I’ll make a deal with you, Lennie. I’ll give you an OIB birthday gift of $314 with the condition that you spend it on a political affair one week before the OIB party. On the 20th of June, my late son would have been 25 years old and I’d like for you to give me the following, if you can:
Print out a copy of the following article and bring it to Parker’s Obama event and ask Obama and Parker to autograph it for me.

  4. Lennie, check this out from http://www.Politico.com.
“… For a contribution of any amount–although the ask is $3–supporters are entered for a chance to be there. According to the fine print, winners also get tickets to a performance by Mariah Carey.”

Why is she asking you for $14 when the ask is $3 for others? Did you get the fine print with the offer of tickets to the performance by Mariah Carey? This doesn’t smell right, Lennie!
