From Jeffrey Williams, author of a book about the Ritz:
Producer and radio host JEFFREY WILLIAMS announces the release of his book, HOME OF HAPPY DANCERS – The Story of Bridgeport, Connecticut’s RITZ BALLROOM.
This large, hard-cover volume traces the history of the City’s legendary dance palace through the recollections of area residents along with remembrances of such luminaries as Les Brown, Frankie Laine, Artie Shaw and Frankie Carle. Filled with both color and black and white photos and illustrations, the book also used historic newspaper clippings to detail major events in the life of the Ritz. Les Brown, Jr., leader of his dad’s famous “Band of Renown” has written the forward. Books are on sale at over ten area locations and sell for $29.95. Visit www.homeofhappydancers.com for more information.
… and Thursday, January 19th at 6:30 PM, Mr. Williams will be appearing at the Black Rock Branch Library.
