From Linda Conner Lambeck, CT Post:
Bridgeport Interim Schools Interim Superintendent Fran Rabinowitz is one of three individuals being interviewed for the job as the state’s next commissioner of education, she confirmed Thursday.
She and two other candidates are being interviewed by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy. AP is reporting that the other two candidates are East Hartford Superintendent Nate Quesnel and Alan Ingram, a deputy commissioner of education in Massachusetts. Quesnel, last year, co-chaired Malloy’s Common Core Task Force.

Hartford’s loss is Bridgeport’s gain. I hear Paul Vallas is still available.
I thought Paul Vallas was elected Lieutenant Governor of Illinois?
Not.
I hope she gets the job in Hartford. No one should have to deal with the BS she gets from the board and a few instigators.
Paul Vallas lost his bid for lieutenant governor.
Yes, I’m aware he lost on election day but you’d better believe if he had won Finch would have been telling everybody about his connection to Vallas.
I hope Rabinowitz’s contract will get a vote of confidence in next Monday’s BOE meeting. Extend the contract and tell her we want her to stay–we need her balance and God knows, we need the consistency. I may not always agree with her but she knows this city and she loves it.
