Politics Warms The Winter Season – Will Dem Leader Mario Testa Seek Another Two Years?

Testa 2016
One more time for Mario?

Will he go again?

In this 2026 gubernatorial cycle, a midterm presidential, the winter cold still brings political heat.

March could see some primaries for the 90-strong Democratic Town Committee, the body that conducts party business, endorses candidates for public office and elects its officers.

Mario Testa has served as leader for the better part of 33 years. The town chairman is sunning himself along the beaches of Puerto Rico for some food for thought as he ponders his next bowl of political pasta.

Does he want another two years, now pushing 80?

Mario loves the action. We’ll see.

But, will insurgents run primaries for a new leader and by extension weighing in on the 2027 mayoral cycle with Mayor Joe Ganim seeking another four-year term?

The first line of attack would be John Gomes, the ex Ganim appointee, displeased with his boss, who came within a whisper of taking him out in 2023.

Gomes did Ganim a huge favor, not by design, when he released the leaked PD video footage of primary ballot stuffers after the Democratic primary and not before.

Had Gomes released that footage before the primary – he had it in advance – Ganim’s toast, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, call it what you want. Gomes would be mayor today.

Perhaps the Gomes camp thought they had the primary in the bag and would utilize it as a last resort.

Long story short, Ganim is still mayor and Gomes is trying another bite. Will Gomes recruit apostles to wage DTC primaries?

Now, the next line of attack could be leaders of the activist group Bridgeport Generation Now, Gemeem Davis and Callie Heilmann. They would be major political players if they’d just turn down the temperature a bit.

They’re both smart and they have money to boot (paging Big Daddy.) That does not always translate into a smart strategic win. The business of elections is a razor’s edge. Anger has a way of clouding reason.

They had a bunch of independent-expenditure money in 2023 to take out Ganim to elect Gomes. Sadly, strategically, they spent most of it barbecuing Ganim’s past deeds more than 20 years prior. Voters revolting Ganim’s past you already got. Bank it. To waste money on that is preaching to the choir.

Most electors vote on the future. Better to spend that loot on why Gomes is better than Ganim.

Anyhoo, that was then, this is now, and a new political season.

Nothing is forever.

  1. This is how disingenuous Port politics is. I mean, come, people. Everybody knows, well within Port entrance, political Gomes, along with quite a few insiders, was never really in the G2 camp. I saw and knew Gomes was not working for G2 in his reelection bid. If I knew. I know G2 knew. Yet it didn’t stop him from giving Gome a six-figure job and Gome being hatched man.

    As for this, Lennie
“Had Gomes released that footage before the primary – he had it in advance – Ganim’s toast, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, call it what you want. Gomes would be mayor today.”

You don’t generally expose your rigged election tactics before you see the results, and in fact, you don’t think your operative under the bus when it doesn’t, and very desperate. I say that because I still stand by my point of view, Mario and Wanda were working against G2. I fact I don’t even think it was their side.

    Free Maria. 🙂

At this rate, I’m going to use the terms “disingenuous” and “Diabolical” interchangeably, because I know even now any more. 🙂

PS I can’t speak on Mario’s pasta, but the Gravy is Prego. It’s fucking in there. 🤣

    Good luck.

Lennie, it took some designing and thinking-it-through, by Gomes, Ricci, and the person responsible for accessing the City’s security camera system–former Public Works Director Craig (list) Nadrizny. Had Ganim lost, we would have not seen or heard of the video and Nadrizny would still be Director of Public Works. Lennie, you should remember when I called you early on the day the news of the video broke. I asked, who the administration suspecte? The City spent over $100,000 to investigate this matter and then buried the findings of the investigations. I attended one of the Ganim fundraisers at the Marina. I noticed Nadrizny starring hard at me. I walked over and said: Why are you starring so hard? Remember how dirty you did me when I was falsely accused and removed from the Police Department? What goes around comes around! Nadrizny did not deny it and simply said, ” I got my 25 years, I’m retiring .” Never mess with the Janitor.

  3. “Mario Testa has served as leader for the better part of 33 years.”

LENNIE, WHY ARE YOU LYING TO US? These two “Democrats” will let you know that Mario Testa has been Bridgeport Party Chair for 40 years as of 2025.

The complaint was initially filed against the town committee by two Bridgeport Democrats, Gemeem Davis and Callie Heilmann.

Before the public hearing, Davis told WSHU the best outcome would be the dissolution of the current DTC.

“The best case scenario, from my perspective, is that they disband the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee and we get to start all over,” Davis said. “They bar people who have been involved in absentee ballot harvesting from being party leaders. If this party, under the leadership of Mario Testa, has violated these rules for 40 years, they remove him as the chair and bar him from ever being chair again.”

  4. BREAKING NEW:

Yesterday, the Bridgeport Police Department Flock Drone was shot the Fluck down. Four people were Injured. It’s alleged Contract Committee Chair Dasha Spell was the shooter seen running from the roof of City Hall, 45 Lyon Terrace. State Police would not comment, only stating it’s an on-going investigation.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. last night as Mayor Joe Ganim, Councilwoman Aidee Nieves, Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter, and Bridgeport Fire Chief, we’re on the roof of the Bridgeport Police Department conducting a night time tes of the drone. Just minutes after taking off, what sounded like a shot was heard.
Mayor Ganim was operating the drone when it suddenly dropped down and going out of control. The drone first struck Ganim on the head causing the drone’s propeller to become entangled to his hair, the propeller ripped off a good portion of the mayor’s hair transplant. The drone then struck the Bridgeport Fire Chief on the face nearly knocking him off the roof. The drone propeller ripped of a good portion of the Fire Chief’s mustache. The drone then struck Police Chief Porter on the chest when the Chief drew his fire arm and pulled the trigger, only to realize he forgot to load his weapon in the morning. Finally, the drone struck former council president Aidee Nieves on the head, when the drone’s propellers got heavily entangled with her thick natural hair and turning off.
