One More Major Step In Recovery Of Success Village – Approval To Waive Interest On Delinquent Taxes

State law prohibits municipalities from waiving interest on delinquent taxes, a precaution against potential sweetheart deals for developers.

The state legislature, however, can do so under special circumstances such as what occurred at Success Village, Connecticut’s largest privately-owned co-op that was mired in a catastrophic health and financial mess until Judge Dale Radcliffe, at the request of Bridgeport and Stratford leadership, jettisoned the board of directors and appointed attorney Barry Knott to resuscitate the Upper East Side property on behalf of 2,000 residents.

The state approved a $6 million loan to help cover infrastructure upgrades and pay millions in back taxes owed Bridgeport and Stratford.

An effort is underway to lobby the state legislature to waive more than $400,000 of accumulated interest on those back taxes.

Meanwhile, federal investigators have a forensic investigation underway to follow millions in missing money.

  1. Reporting of the saga of Success Village continues:
    **more than 900 units in Bridgeport and Stratford, featuring residential unit ownership under a Co-operative structure hit the news over two years ago with self-government failing to operate for the benefit of the unit owners;
    **heating and hot water engineering issues made ‘private’ matters public for health safety reasons
    **financial matters were tracked but the trail ran out on the disposition of millions and the Federal authorities have taken on the investigation
    **and a chart of accomplishment of purposeful and planned actions is posted on OIB,
    but questions continue to rise and self-governance in the future is not discussed as a purpose of helping this community prepare for a return to self governance. Surely, wise leaders want condominium and co-op communities to continue in self-governance, but instead leave them on their own, without support until dire activities occur. Why is there no Fair Housing Commission, as Bridgeport had, 20 years ago? Time will tell.

      Anyone else find it ironic that the people of Iran are waving Iranian flags in Iran in support of their nation when the Iranian identity, be it Ancient Persia, is playing second fiddle to a religion that conquered them?

    5. Lifting Secondary Sanctions: The removal of sanctions against foreign entities that do business with Iran. (Granted, though perhaps the heathens, disingenuous France should be sanctioned for this “western” influence shit show)

    6. Commitment to Non-aggression: A fundamental guarantee from the U.S. that it will not attack Iran again. (Don’t start on shit won’t be no shit)

    7. Control of the Strait of Hormuz: Iran retains military control over the waterway, potentially including a protocol for charging transit fees to ships. (No)

    8. Nuclear Enrichment: Acceptance of Iran’s right to continue uranium enrichment for its nuclear program. (No. No Bomb and or Uranium enrichment for Nuclear power.)

    Being a fair, religate the Aytollah to a religious leader in a role like the Ayatollahs of Pakistan, and have your elected president lead your country. You can enrich uranium for domestic energy, Shit, you can get teh bomb for all I care. Stick to your backyard/war Iran (or should I say Paris) and let Lebanon negotiate/deal with their country issues.

    That being said, I am somewhat disappointed that Iran didn’t demand Israel free the Palestinians from their oppression, per se, and the UN/world’s need for endorsement of the two-state solution. But I don’t think (Paris) cares much about the Palestinian plight or God/Allah for that matter, more than their obsession with oppression/hate for the female Human species.
