Lucille Bruno, Former Registrar Of Voters

Sorry to hear about the passing of Lucille Bruno who served many years as Democratic Registrar of Voters. Lucille was dedicated to her position, always helpful and available to those of us managing city political campaigns. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Funeral services from Parente-Lauro:

Lucille E. (Rich) Bruno, age 73 of Bridgeport, the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Bruno, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on January 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Cannizzio) Rich, and was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport. She was a parishioner of St. Raphael’s Church and St. Margaret’s Shrine and was an active member of the Altar Guild. Lucille was retired from the City of Bridgeport and an active member of the Democratic Party. She loved to cook and was happiest when surrounded by her loving family. Survivors include her daughters, Cory Bromley, Jill Bruno and wife Kim Hudler, her grandchildren, Alexis Martin and husband Darryl, Joseph Bromley and wife Melissa, and Joy Magnarella and husband Jason, her great granddaughter, Zoey Bromley, her sister, Arlene Bruneau, special niece, Dayna Drost, brother-in-law, Frank Bruno and wife Virginia and many extended family members and friends. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 9:00 AM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., and at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2539 Park Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Entombment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home,

  1. My sympathies to the Bruno Family … I remember Lucille with great fondness from my days at the newspaper. Lucille was truly a decent person and she should be remembered as such by all in the city. RIP.
