Local Police Conduct Vigil For Tyre Nichols, Beaten To Death By Memphis Cops

From Eddy Martinez, CT Post:

Police Chief Roderick Porter and other city officials spoke about Tyre Nichols like he was one of their own Friday, hosting a vigil for the Memphis man who died after being beaten by police following a traffic stop last month.

“If his family can hear us in Bridgeport, or they can be touched by what we’re doing here today, I hope that brings them a level of comfort,” Porter said.

Porter and various city and state officials, including Mayor Joe Ganim spoke at the vigil, criticizing the actions of Memphis police, who were recorded beating Nichols after a traffic stop. Nichols would later die of his injuries, setting off nationwide protests.

City officials were joined by state representatives Herron Gaston and Fred Gee, who said they’re taking action to lessen the chances of something similar occurring within the state.

“Being a newly elected official, Dr. Gaston and myself, have presented some legislation to the Public Safety Committee that’s going to help to alleviate some of the communication issues between police and motorists. This legislation is going to be huge for our community,” Gee said.

The legislation according to Gaston, would require police officers to tell motorists why they are being stopped during a traffic stop, unless doing so would jeopardize the safety of an officer or motorist.

  1. Well, the till fits, “Local Police Conduct Vigil For Tyre Nichols”

Out of 60 or so people who attended, more than 50% were police. Out of the reminding 50%, 40% were either city hall employees or in some professional capacity. Not one BLM sign or the sign of its presence. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were fewer black people there outside of an official capacity than the total number of police officers in evolved into the beating death of Tyre Nichols.

John, this is why I am critical/apprehensive of CRT. It’s somewhat anti-American/capitalist/right for power. It uses racial identity politics for votes driven by emotional racism, particularly for the black vote or anti-white, to gain political power, on a Level.

While Black Lives Matter, Black Votes Matter more. Diversity, equity, and inclusion may be socialist/left’s framework for power, racism, or race motivation, in the anti-white race card is the card of choice. LOCIALLY speaking.

Can you imagine if those police officers who dragged Tyre out of his car and beat him to death were white? Considering how the left used Floyd’s death to conjure up racial sentiment/racism against this nation/history and political votes? Surely Tyre Live Mattered just as much as Floyd’s. Though, is quite a contrast from burning down police stations across this nation because a black man was killed by them, to vigils held by them. JS

The absence speaks for itself, but I understand, collateral damage in all. I am sure Joe’s old “support” AKA hatchman, John Gomes is not going to praise his old boss as he did in 2015.

They say every journey comes to an end, Though politics, like the world, keeps not spinning. My guess when the world stops spinning, politics will stop spinning. Or until some aliens come to this world and make Columbus look like Gandhi in diapers.

    1. Imagine the outcry and national black rage had the officers involved been white. Here we see a total reverse of the norm. So far this year, there’s been 6 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty (I believe they’re all white). Where’s Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter’s concern or sympathy for these fallen officers?

Where are you doing your research on “critical race theory”? With Christopher Rufo since 2020?
What source causes you to think that I am somehow in favor of limiting in any way the study of history as advocated by those who see a subject everywhere they look in local education, but cannot or will not identify that which they object to, other than the feelings of certain school children?
Foolish advocacy relative to culture learning?
What did President 45 learn about honesty from elementary history lessons? What does he remember from Honest George Washington and a certain cherry tree? Take a moment if you need to. Time will tell.

  2. Final point,

Speaking of Columbus “he” history and CRT as race-bate politics, John.

Black people are going to have a natural emotional attachment to American history on how their black/African ancestors came here and were treated. Even the blacks who migrated here now, in search of a better life for their family will have an emotional attachment to it. Though, while that history is pretty far removed from blacks living in America today that emotional attachment is there. How can it not be?

It is still fresh in the tern of history, particularly in the current generation of segregation. Unlike, let’s say the Italians with their own “colorful” rich history that perhaps goes back to the Roman Republic, itself.

Emotionally speaking, ever since KC beat the 49ers in the supper bowl I want to see Mahone and KC lose. It’s nothing personal, the 49ers are my team since the days of Montana and Rice. though I am not an avid football fan. People just get emotionally attached to things.

G2 was just at a forum to squash a beef between Bassick and Wilber Cross high of New Heaven, over a lost game most likely. Take Lebron’s emotional anger over a foul that cost them the game, rightfully so, It’s natural, but being a national icon valued in the hundreds of millions it can make you channel that anger.

Cities/police, Port included, can have a hard/challenging time keeping beefs between various sections of towns from getting out of hand, which constitutes gunplay and death regardless of race. That’s why the idea/political game to bus very impersonal teenagers from one school to another was irresponsible and reckless, well because unwarranted. It didn’t even conform to their platform of Diversity, equity, and inclusion. It was straight-out devaluation

The point being, when it comes to politics, BLM, and BVM, Black Votes Matter more, However, when conjuring up those votes in the name of the political game using emotional sentiment PARTICULARLY Black/ancestors’ history journey to the New World it can be irresponsible and reckless too many blacks/browns and this nation.

Because when life throws you some SHIT you don’t agree with, “natural instance” tends to kick in and it seeks someone, something to blame that follows the path of least resistance, which is race, Hence the most political card played PARTICULARY that emotionally based RACE card. It’s all about votes, first, then they slip you the idealogy, Perhaps over a cup of coffee, 🙂 or dinner, Tasting the movement, people 🙂

However, it can be a different flavor for blacks/Africans whose journey began in America, because of its politics. Then let’s say Africans whose journey began in Brazil, Jamaica, or Gomes’, Cape Verde. Etc. They have a self-identity and national identity that blacks’ descendants are generally taught not to have in America. Yet when the black descendants, of the same human history, migrates to America from places like Brazil, Jamaica, or Cape Verde in search of a better life for themselves and their families, the political game of America. Well, emotionally, you know who it goes.

Take every Latino, Council Man Cruz for example, who preached against Columbus’s atrocities in the “discovery” of the New World. Everything about it was racist, anti-white, and anti-American. Notwithstanding, Columbus had nothing to do with the black journey in America and their treatment. It was
, in fact, his ancestor, the Latino Heritage, I will though Portuguese into that barrel, they are basically the same, and has a colorful history of their own. Who conquered a large portion of the New World and the indigenous people. As I said, PR speaks Spanish for a reason like many other countries in the New World.

But it doesn’t MATTER because it’s about the votes, driven by emotions.

Cruz is right when he said it’s not about Italians, Though I can say the same about the Catholic Church. It is about racism.

However, in Cruz’s conquest against ‘white”/Italian Columbus, he wasn’t emotionally happy when the white man, G2, passed over a Latino, Garcia for a black man, Porter.

#emotionalbaceracialpolitics. #BVM, LVM, WVM, Votes Matter.

    1. Perspectively speaking, while, the African/black journey in America wasn’t easy, to say the least. Their offspring and those who are lucky to migrate to America have a better quality of life than those whose ancestors didn’t or whose visa was denied. I would think, overall.

For shits and giggles. That’s just how the political world spins outside one’s team/side/party, I guess. 🙂

P.S you have to hand it to the Latinos though, for “DISCOVER” INVADE, CONQUER, ENSLAVING, STEAL most of the New World then blamed it on that one “WHITE” Italian. 😂

      Steve Columbus. 🙂
