Lawyer Fined For False Allegation Against City

From Dan Tepfer, CT Post:

A Danbury civil rights lawyer was fined by a federal judge for lying in a lawsuit that claimed Bridgeport city officials have a policy against hiring black lawyers.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Meyer on Thursday threw out Josephine Small Miller’s discrimination lawsuit against the city and fined her $1,500.

Miller recently represented a Bridgeport school principal who was suspended for six months for dragging children through a school hallway. The controversial incidents were caught on video.

  1. Principal who was suspended for six months for dragging children through a school hallway.

The Nuns at St Peter’s School in Bridgeport did that to me every week, after beating me for an hour with a pointer or ruler on the palms of my hands. Then they would drag me to Mother Superior, and she would kick my ass like they do on UFC fight night!

Maybe that’s why I take meds today???

  2. What Jim said … but Maplewood! The window in the principal’s office was used as a gallows; once you were locked in, out came the biggest paddle you ever saw! Anyone?
    “NO LAWSUIT!”

  3. Sidebar: I am surprised there was no blurb on the blog regarding the University of BRIDGEPORT, George Estrada and the future of the school. I was very pleased and excited for the University. It is sad the City office of economic development cannot take credit for it. It is surprising Mr. Torres did not get a quote from the Mayor. The University is an anchor in the South End and the City should rejoice in its future growth. Great article, great job George Estrada! The only Republican who could be Mayor!

    1. I was looking at the UBKnightlines Summer 2014 and on the cover is Gov. Malloy with the UB President and Mary-Jane Foster, also Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman in a picture addressing the Health Sciences graduates. Guess what, nowhere to be found is Mayor Bill Finch, what a disgrace to the City and to the University of Bridgeport.
